Welcome to The Choicer Voicer, a game show where your voice is the star!

Inspired by party games of old, The Choicer Voicer is all about doing vocal impressions in various fun game formats.

Fully customize your experience

Many aspects of the game are designed to be changed up by you! The menu's aesthetics, the studio for gameplay, the judge panel, the host, and more can be switched up in a Customize menu! Make content packs for you and your friends, or download them from online. You want niche memes or obscure quotes to play? Making a voice pack is as easy as dropping audio files into a folder.

Note that there's very little content built into the game so far. Currently, it's a blank canvas that requires getting content from elsewhere.

Most game modes are singleplayer at the moment. A simple local multiplayer version exists for up to four players at once. There are also modes dedicated for Twitch streamers, which will read commands used by your chat members--and even a content pack type that lets your viewers vocalize in the show!

Online multiplayer does not exist at this time. It would be incredible to have, but the skill ceiling to implement it is high, especially when privacy and security are paramount. Better indie devs than I have struggled with making ironclad online features.

Current features

• A game show studio that be played with 1-4 players, which computer judges vote on your vocal impressions.
• A variant for Twitch streamers that lets their Twitch chat vote on their performances.
• Dub Mode, where you can do a voiceover of your favorite scenes.

⚠Warnings⚠

The Choicer Voicer is still an early access alpha. The foundational code is two years old and makes it difficult to implement some features.

There have been many reports of peoples' microphones not recording their audio in-game. This is an issue that effectively makes the game unplayable. This issue may be related to surround-sound audio setups, which would be an issue with the Godot Engine itself that needs to be fixed.

If you're unsure or concerned about your microphone not working, test it in the free "No Gameplay Demo" so that you don't have to refund a purchase.

Additionally, the Godot Engine is very behind when it comes to microphone features. If you're an experienced audio coder, I implore you to do what I cannot, and help the Godot Foundation elevate their microphone and audio features. In particular, my personal wishlist includes: access to a built-in FFT; the ability to reverse an audio stream; the ability to normalize an audio stream; and the ability to take slices of audio streams and merge them, regardless of the stream’s file type.
