IONIZATION is a WIP 3D-action, developed since 2011, being inspired by the Half-Life series, the modification PARANOIA and other creations of the BuZZeR level designer. The project is based on the FWGS engine with PrimeXT SDK. The Early Access version is now freely available, which takes about 2 hours to complete. This build performs an introductory function and it doesn't represent the final quality of the project.
Oktyabrsk, a once-closed town that served as the cradle of scientific and military elites, is now in decline. It's the nineties - an era of the country's collapse, imposing new rules on its people: Soviet legacies are being eagerly scavenged by rival factions. The predatory scramble is closely watched by grim officials from the regional center, yet they are in no hurry to intervene. Meanwhile, the hidden facility for which Oktyabrsk was built in the first place seems unwilling to fade into oblivion. "Ionization" disrupts the quiet lives of the locals and sparks a military mutiny - while you are left to uncover the truth. Watch your step - Pandora's box holds no mercy for the curious.

За хищническим переделом внимательно наблюдают хмурые службисты из областного центра, однако не торопятся вмешиваться. Между тем, скрытый от наблюдателей объект, для которого и был возведен Октябрьск, будто не собирается мириться с забвением. «Ионизация» нарушает привычный быт жителей округи и служит катализатором военного мятежа, а Вам тем временем предстоит расследовать произошедшее. Берегите себя - ящик Пандоры не сулит любопытным ничего хорошего.

It's one of the most significant spots in the city's southern district. Here's how it's described in a literary narrative: "Just across the street, in the former 'Romashka' cafe, the shady establishment known as 'El Dorado' - a bar, billiard club, casino, and strip club all in one - was still welcoming guests up until yesterday. The unusual juxtaposition of a tavern and a police station at the opposite side helped maintain a relative calm and absence of clashes in the area. Both the 'Reds' and the 'Blacks' might drop by 'El Dorado,' though they'd typically be kept separate in different rooms. The core of the clientele consisted of newly emerged businesspeople - a 'taxable base' for both sides. Yet, all that no longer mattered now: the city's tune was being set by the sectarians, and the smells of smoke, gunpowder, and blood did little to foster a festive atmosphere."

Аеку не хватает своего калибра, побольше аптечек бы да и баг с грузовиком который на жд тараниться в ворота исправить. Желаю автору не забросить мод и делать его дальше, да прибудет с ним сила и терпение, мод явно многообещающий. Также надеюсь найдутся энтузиасты которые в озвучку мода пойдут, насчёт себя самого не уверен, что впишусь в озвучке, но буду рад попробовать помочь.

first, make your mod playable and enjoyable, second set visual effects, atmosphere etc. your mod is very undone, basic and not enjoyable. graphics doesn't make your ******** get better. learn to make a mod, ask for the BuZZer or watch Youtube tutorials. your level transitions is very nonsense and too much. i just literally try to go the upstairs and boom! i teleported up the stairs.

Genuinely impressive visuals, shaders and lighting and realism of environments, making goldsource look like Unreal 2 at times.
I think I'm going to be the minority here. While the levels do look STUNNING, I have a LOT of problems with the gameplay and feel of Ionization that had me quit early on.
I kept getting snagged on a lot of small details which made movement very frustrating. When out on the street, a passing car that wasn't even close to me swept me along the pavement and crushed me against a truck. The car then passed right through the truck as though it weren't even there. I also had to restart after attempting to jump over a trash bin of some sort and getting trapped inside it!
That and the frankly bizarre number of invisible walls in the early maps I had no idea where I was supposed to go and I got incredibly bored while running up and down stairs, trying every single door as there was no way to tell which ones would open and which ones would not. This taking place in an otherwise empty building with nothing interesting going on. None of the NPCs react to you in any way. Most just freeze in place when you try to interact with them.
Then I reached a train yard where I ran around and shot some zombies, before climbing up onto a train and jumping over a wall into a field of dev textures.
So yeah, while visually impressive it felt very unstable and not much fun to play.

I'm sorry that your gaming experience turned out to be unpleasant, I tried to arrange text hints and active tasks in the pager that would help in passing. I understand that not all the points are obvious, and a video walkthrough was recorded for this. In any case, I’m going to fix known bugs, refine the gameplay, add more interactivity. However, I wouldn’t like to slip into the arcade, which leads the player by the hand, and leave the intrigue which allow gamers to solve quests by independent research. The main issue is finding a balance and saturation of the game world in a way that makes this exploration more interesting😉
Happy to hear you are addressing some of the points I made. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want the project to change genre to be more arcade action if that's not something you're going for. I really like exploring open areas and finding little hints here and there. But the clipping issues when moving around were one of the main problems.
More life and interaction in the opening section would be wonderful, and smoother player clipping around small objects (door handles on cabinets, bins, etc) so you don't get stuck to/in things while running around would be great.
