Loved it! Thought I was in some sort of simulation.  very psychological and it seems I was in a coma and hallucinating my life with my late wife? Good setting and atmosphere, felt unease and uncomfortable. See my playthrough here:

Interesting game

Thought at first that it was absurd that the textures was quite terrible, but as the story went on, it started to make sense as to why the environment looks like it, enjoyable and a slow burn.

Interesting. Just a question - Could we uncover the key to access that locked room? Here it goes: the second video. It's remind at the ending the Sisyphus myth:

Amazing game

Try downloading it from your browser instead. sometimes the Itch client can have trouble with paid games on sale.

Hey Worst Event Games,

You were my Gem of the Stream! Check it out:

What a surreal experience!  I love the PSX style you've employed that does a great job of adding another layer to these kinds of games. It kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next weird occurrence. I love the voice acting that again adds another unsettling layer to the game. All the best with your future games and hope you continue in this awesome style!

I have created a Discord as a space for game devs to talk about their experiences and share their games. Would love to have you join!

Hey, thank you so much for playing Cherophobia on your stream. It was really fun to watch! Also really appreciate the gem. Looking forward to see more from you soon.

Played the game on Steam. For what it is, it’s pretty good at being unsettling, but also it’s very short with there not being much to do afterwards. I can easily see a game like this being really good if it had more of a runtime and lasted a bit longer or if it had more to do like more dialogue options unlocking. Solid game though, 7/10 on the atmosphere.

My brother introduced me to this game. At first, I was intrigued by the mysterious atmosphere and the strange woman in the house, it definitely caught my attention. However, as I kept playing, the experience started to feel repetitive while I was trying to piece together what had happened and why everything was stuck in a loop. Eventually, I even stopped going back and forth between the car and the house, as it felt inconvenient and didn't add much during the repeated loops. I believe the pacing of the events could be improved, or perhaps something new could be introduced to keep the player engaged. I reached the end credits after pushing the car up the hill, but even then, there was nothing really waiting there. I explored as much as I could, but areas to the left and right, and the hill were off-limits. Adding a spooky element or some sort of discovery in those areas might really enhance the tension and atmosphere.
As it stands now, I have to admit I eventually got a bit bored. The suggestions above are just ideas to help maintain suspense and keep the player more immersed in the experience.

This is a great psychological horror game. I played through it tensely, with that feeling that something could happen at any moment. The atmosphere works well and delivers what's expected of the genre (which is kinda rare nowadays).

The game isn't for everyone, as the ending and meaning are quite conceptual and philosophical, without focusing on anything particularly solid, leaving it up to the player to create their own interpretation of what happened. I really like it, tho.

For those who enjoy 100%ing games, be prepared, because it has a "bug" that makes achievements only appear after you finish the game, and the exceptions are quite superficial. I'll create a guide to show you how to do the more rare ones, as there aren't any so far.

If I could suggest something, I would like to see more possible combinations of what could be done, like options that create new ones that I didn't see before.

It's a solid 8/10 game.

Got the game from a reddit giveaway, very fun. The achievements seem to be bugged though, I couldnt unlock any jsut looked at the game again, i did unlock them just after the game closed

I won a giveaway for this game on Reddit from the developer I will make a review later

I don't know if you will see this (dev) but whenever I try to play this game it opens up for a split second showing a black screen and then closes. I don't know if anyone else is having the problem but I also tried to install it in the itch.io app and it won't let me install and says at the bottom, 'no compatible downloads were found'.

It's strange because I'm using Windows 10, drivers for my 4080 Super are up to date etc and I can't recall having a problem like this with Itch.io games. It's a shame because this game looks so good! Just wanted to pass this a long incase maybe there's something you find moving forward. Thank you. :)

Hey,
Just a quick note: the itch client can’t download and launch unclaimable games with 100% discount. In this case, you’ll need to download the game directly through your browser instead of using the itch.io app.

Regarding the issue you’re experiencing, could you please check if there’s a file named save_game2.dat in the following folder?

%appdata%/Godot/app_userdata/cherophobia
  1. Press Win + R and type %appdata%, then press Enter.

  2. Navigate to Godot/app_userdata/cherophobia and look for save_game2.dat.

Also, it would really help us debug this further if you could run the game from the command line and share the debug logs. just drag and drop the game exe in cmd and run it from there. Thanks for reaching out and your patience.

Hey, thank you for getting back to me I really appreciate it. After following your instructions there is no save_game2.dat in the Cherophobia folder. The only folder that is shown is a 'logs' folder.

As for the second part, attached is a picture of what happened when I ran it in CMD. There wasn't much but this is what there was. Thanks for your time.

So there are no errors in the command line and then it just closes? That’s strange.

Could you please try downloading this save file and placing it in %appdata%/Godot/app_userdata/cherophobia?

Thanks for getting back to me. No errors unfortunately which I wish would be the case. It would certainly narrow things down more.

I downloaded the save file and put it in the instructed folder but alas it is still giving me the black screen and instantly closing. I honestly thought that would work. It is very strange indeed. I appreciate the help though I'm not sure what else to do. I might be out of luck in being able to play your game. :(

This psychological horror game, with its mind-bending loops, really pulled me in. The story had a Silent Hill 2 vibe, and I loved piecing together all the hidden details to uncover its true depth.(With the help of people on YouTube comments...) The PS1 style graphics were a fantastic touch – I really miss that feeling.

hi

I hate always getting catfished by grey aliens on dating apps happens way too much and maybe its shallow but I’m just not interested in you if you’re a 45 year old grey who spends their weekend in their UFO so you can harass farm owners by abducting their cows and doing mad crop circles in their fields and no one is impressed by that loud ass muffler you poked holes in or the bumper sticker complaining about your ex wife

love the atmospher

Ok but like... Can I be with her? She's pretty and caring... My soul needs that for real :')

(Fantastic work y'all. Didn't get to play it cause I don't have a PC, I'm on Xbox, but I saw the playthru Caseoh did. I'd play it on mobile if it was available. Looking forward to seeing what new adventures you folks make in the future. Best wishes!)

I can't play, the loading screen stays in 65

what's your operating system and system specs?

and double check the number is it 65 or 69?

Windows 10 and the number is 69.
