Afrikaans speaking countries

Afrikaans is one out of eleven official languages in South Africa and is spoken in Namibia as monther tongue by a part of the population. The Afrikaans language (native name: Afrikaans) has its roots in the Indo-European language family.

With 8.09 million native speakers, Afrikaans has the highest prevalence in South Africa. A total of about 8.4 million people worldwide speak Afrikaans as their mother tongue.
