MEDLINE Databank Sources
MEDLINE citations may carry the databank names listed in the two tables shown below. The ClinicalTrial data repositories are listed in the first table and the second table contains other data sources such as Molecular Sequence Data; Gene Expression Data; PubChem Identifiers; BioProject Identifiers; and other scientific data repository identifiers.
These databank names appear in the DatabankName element of the XML version of the citation.
In PubMed the DatabankName XML element is called the Secondary Source ID and is designated as SI in the MEDLINE and Abstract displays.
To search for the presence of a databank source value (SI) in PubMed, regardless of the specific value, search: hasdatabanklist
To search for a specific value of a data source search the databank name abbreviation, qualified by [SI], in PubMed. Example: ANZCTR [SI]
