• Brick Joke:
  • Tangled: "Oh, it's the horse from The Road to El Dorado!"
  • The Road to El Dorado: "Oh, it's the horse from Tangled!"
• Broke the Rating Scale: The series originally used a positive/negative 1-10 scale, with the positives being for genuine enjoyment and the negatives being for So Bad, It's Good invoked factor. JelloApocalypse felt the need to add 0 to the scale after watching Monsters vs. Aliens and a few other movies since then got stuck with a 0 as well.
• Christmas Episode:
  • The Scooby-Doo video was uploaded near the holiday.
  • The Rankin/Bass specials video is also themed around holiday specials.
• Hulk Speak: Used in the DreamWorks video to hammer in how dumb Jello thinks Turbo's premise is:
  "Snails go slow? What if go fast? GOOD MOVIE PITCH."
• Running Gag: Every Toy Story movie and short is reviewed with a comparison to The Brave Little Toaster.
• So Bad, It's Good:invoked The reviews are on a scale from -10 to 10 to highlight movies Jello feels are this way. Entries closest to 0 are considered the worst, and the negative rankings described as "unique", "fun to mock with some friends" or at least "not boring".
• Suspiciously Specific Denial: The re-uploaded version of the Pokémon movie reviews states that the singing had to be removed because even parodic versions of the songs aren't allowed to be legally uploaded to YouTube...and that you should definitely not be playing the audio recording linked in the video's description in place of the removed music.
• That Reminds Me of a Song: Many reviews are sung:
  • "Bless my soul, this movie's skippable!"
  • "Some-BODY once told me Hoodwinked! is a better movie!"
  • "Sorta mediocre, but the endgame's pretty neat!"
  • "Unwanted trilogies don't sweep me off my feet!"
  • "No one's Scar like Gaston, lowers bars like Scar-ston!"
  • "Oh, my dear, my darling dear, your movie astounds me..."
  • The entire Pokémon movies review is meant to be based on the anime's theme songs, but requires a bit of legally-gray activity to experience as intended.
