Mona Lisa doesn't feel like smiling today
Chronopedia Chapter Title: The Renaissance
Good Guide: Renee Santz
Location: Florence, Italy
Year: 1505
It's The Renaissance and Leonardo da Vinci is painting The Mona Lisa. Or at least he would be if Carmen's thief hadn't stolen his notebooks and upset his model, preventing her from providing the famous Mona Lisa Smile.
Tropes
- Artistic License – History: Da Vinci worked on The Mona Lisa for years, so it wasn't painted in a single session like the game implies.
- Bilingual Bonus: Da Vinci refers to the model as "Mona". He is essentially saying "Madam" to her.
- How About a Smile?: Your goal here is to get the model to smile so that Leonardo can paint it.
- Left Out a Piece: The villain built Leonardo a mechanical jester to entertain Mona Lisa to get her to smile. However, when the villain executed their assigned theft, they accidentally knocked several parts loose from the jester machine, and it quit working, leaving Leonardo at a loss to finish the portrait.
- Lightbulb Joke: Renee Santz can try to entertain the model with a lightbulb joke. She just asks "What's a lightbulb?", prompting Renee to abandon it.
- Prisoner's Work: Referenced. After you capture Sir Vile, Renee Santz suggests turning his plate armor into license plates.
- Renaissance Man: Leonardo will talk about how he's an expert in various fields, noting, however, that he's no good at telling jokes because humor is the one subject that's always eluded him.
