Basic Trope: A character gets easily excited or riled up.

  • Straight: Ariel is excited, loud, determined, and passionate.
  • Exaggerated: Ariel yells excessively, spouts bold righteous statements, would die before giving in, spices up her life by doing mundane actions in a epic way, converts entire paragraphs into words, and exerts herself to the breaking point.
  • Downplayed: Ariel is a passionate person with a zest for life, but she knows that there is a time and place for its expression.
  • Justified: Ariel does active things regularly, so it would make sense.
  • Inverted: Ariel is more calm and collected, and not very overly passionate.
  • Subverted: Though a very strong athlete, Ariel is calm and collected at all times.
  • Double Subverted: ...but when she gets pushed too far, she goes into an Unstoppable Rage.
  • Parodied:
    • Ariel's passion literally burns, setting things on fire. Her friends always follow him around with a fire extinguisher to put out any fires that started when she gets excited.
    • Ariel gets so passionate and determined that she does stupid things, and her friends have to stop her.
  • Zig-Zagged: Ariel is a member of a Proud Warrior Race who is calm and collected at all times until she's hit with a mind control spell that's supposed to put him in an Unstoppable Rage, but instead it makes her hopelessly depressed and unenthusiastic.
  • Averted: Ariel doesn't get worked up easily.
  • Lampshaded: "Ariel sure likes to get fired up. Does this fight mean that much to her or is she just crazy?"
  • Invoked: Ariel has modeled his behavior after his favorite heroes in video games and stories who always speak in CAPITAL LETTERS!
  • Exploited: Ariel's allies rely on her gun-ho mentality to provide distractions while they infiltrate the base from now unguarded entry points.
  • Defied: Destiny goes on a mission instead of Ariel because it requires patience, stealth, and discretion, traits Ariel decidedly lacks.
  • Discussed: "Listen, Ariel, unlike in action movies, the best fighters in real life tend to be those who can keep a cool head under pressure. Can you tone it down a little?"
  • Conversed: "Ever notice how Ariel never seems hesitant or doubtful when she gets in those action scenes? In fact, she pretty much flips out all the time." "Yeah, but it sure is fun to watch. Her actress must be enjoying it too."
  • Deconstructed: Ariel is regarded as a reckless hothead who disregards tactics in favor of charging into trouble. Her friends suffer from bad morale and eventually lose a critical battle.
  • Reconstructed: Ariel realizes that true passion derives from holding a strong guiding belief, and reaffirms what La Résistance is fighting for in the first place. By reigning in her hot blood to account for tactics and planning and letting loose when things naturally heat up, Ariel becomes an inspiration rather than an embarrassment.
  • Played for Laughs: Ariel gets fired up over the most mundane tasks possible.
  • Played for Drama: Ariel is hiding deep-rooted psychological problems that cause her to lash out aggressively to every confrontation that comes her way, eventually culminating in a total nervous breakdown.

COME ON! IT"S TIME TO GO BACK TO HOT-BLOOOOOODED!!!!
