A list of tropes about carnivores and, by extension, natural predators and scavengers. These are creatures whose diet primarily consists of meat. Hence, they have a reputation for hunting and killing other animals as their main way of obtaining meat and ensuring their survival.

Carnivores also branch out into different subforms, which include avivores (consumption of birds), insectivores (consumption of insects), molluscivores (consumption of molluscs), piscivores (consumption of fishes), vermivores (consumption of worms), and man-eaters (predators who prey on humans)
