I’m a Queer, Indigenous (ᏣᎳᎩᏱ ᏕᏣᏓᏂᎸᎩ), and disabled writer (a lot of smaller publications that have since crumbled into internet aether), game designer (previously; Evil Hat, Blaseball, my own stuff), and radio personality (against my will).

Consider me your friendly neighborhood Appalachian monster librarian. Or just a red wolf to keep things simple. Unless you want the full lecture on indigenous folklore.

Outside of the aforementioned (mostly analog) game design, writing, and radio; I also enjoy the act of collecting folklore and ways from around the world. I’m into cooking, general outdoorsy stuff, horror, storytelling as an artform, and pop culture ephemera so expect to see a little bit of all of those down here among other thing.

Also been trying to get back into biology.

Did you know I make cool games?

You know that "inverse indiana jones" thing everyone always jokes about? You want a version of that made by someone actually affected by the colonialism and racism that would need to be discussed? Do you want the pulp adventure with an folkloric fantasy coat of paint? Do you want it as a narrative-tag driven ttrpg that allows you to self define your culture and your relationship to it?

I've been developing it for years and before that joke was a thing...
I'm about ready to turn it into a book too.

I would like to see what sort of classes/roles are available. and to see if players, can be something other than human, like the demigod that was mentioned.

I can answer some of this for you! The game will be using a system similar to my previous game Exceptionals, where you mix and match playbooks with open-ended player question made to generated character tags that carry both narrative and mechanical weight. This allows player to self-define and create unique and high concept things, something kinda important when talking about culture and your connections to it.

This game, as of now, has 28 playbooks split into two sets of 14.

The first are Form Lodges, representing the sort of adventurer you are. Why would this organization think you would make an ideal member?

-The Ace: A master of getting to where you want to go when you need it. Vehicles, travel, and the road are their life.

-The Adventurer: A daredevil willing to take chances. the sort of person who needs to see and experience for them

-The Artist: Someone knowledge about art, process and what surrounds it.

-The Engineer: You're skilled at making and creating mechanical solutions and gadgets

-The Face: You're someone with a talent for social intricacies, negotiation, and manipulation

-The Fixer: You're someone who knows the ins and outs of business, dealmaking, and securing demand

-The Heart: You're an empathetic and expressive person able to stay steady in your convictions and express them

-The Hitter: Someone skilled at combat and combat resolution.

-The Investigator: You're someone skilled at finding answers and solving mysteries

-The Owl: You're someone skilled in subversive or illicit skills and task

-The Scholar: You're knowledgeable and skilled in the humanit
ies

-The Scientist: You're knowledgeable and skilled in the STEM

-The Survivor: You're someone who despite it all keeps going and gets back up

-The T
actician: You're someone adept at strategy and planning

The first are Fable Lodges, representing the your connections to magic, culture, and folklore. Basically, what sort of powers you have. These 14 include:

-The Artifact: Someone with a specific connection to a magical item or legendary rel
ic

-The Blessed: Someone who cultivated a connection to the divine and sacred through cultural practices and organization.

-The Companion: Someone with a personal bond with a supernatural creature that has connected itself with you for some reason

-The Cursed: Someone who broke the rules, offended the wrong thing, or faced great misfortune.

-The Enigma: Someone empowered by or embodying an urban legend

-The Favored: Someone who is received the favor or mark of a supernatural power

-The Fringe: New manifestations born from unexplained phenomena, urban legends, and neospiritualism of strange powers for the near- and trans- human

-The Paramount: Someone with a specific but amazing talent or ability beyond the human normal

-The Prosed: Someone who channels the talents and abilities of a specific iconic literary of pop culture figure that carries cultural significance, weight, and longevity

-The Promethian: An artificially created being with a connection to magic

-The Scion: Someone with a direct familial connection to a supernatural being

-The Strange: Someone who can take the form of or is a monster

-The Spirit: Any number of spiritual beings, human and inhuman

-The Talented: A person who developed a personal co
nnection to magic through study, work, and trial

You make a character by picking one form, one fable, and one book of your choice. As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to play the non-human.

I also have 4 more playbooks I haven't revealed that will be stretch goals on release!
???- Form
???- Fable
???- Form
???- Fable

Last time I did the math, without counting the stretchgoal books or question choices, this means a possible 5096 combinations
