My Keyboard is Full of Ants!
Made in 48 hours for the Ludum Dare 56 Compo! If you notice any audio stuttering or other issues, try downloading the Windows executable instead of playing in browser.

1/23/2026: Rebuilt the game after something (perhaps an Itch.io update?) caused it to not load across multiple browsers. Also fixed a bug where ant spawning was deterministic rather than random in the web build.

Download and extract MyComputerIsFullOfAnts.zip, then run the executable. Windows will likely give you a warning about running a file created with PyInstaller.

Hello, I really liked the game but can you please put sound settings? Muting the music in particular.
Because even though it's fun after a while it gets repetitive and I'm not really a fan of the lyrics :D I just want to keep listening to whatever I was listening to on Spotify before I opened the game.
This was made in a 48-hour game jam, and I generally don’t go back and add extra features to projects like this (even if I had the time to!).
This one in particular placed well in the Ludum Dare game jam, so it’s very possible someone will stumble into it as a reference for a 48-hour jam game. Adding extra QOL features after the fact might give a misleading impression of what scope of game can be made in that time. So I prefer to leave games like this alone as a sort of “time capsule” — bugs, issues, and all.
I really enjoyed this game. I think perhaps my favourite aspect was zany break gaps drink mouse horse plant.
Being this my second language, its not that bad of a score i think
A very fun little game that reminded me ALOT of school days with the typing tutor games in computer lab, specifically the mode where you were 'driving' and errors showed up as bugs splattered on the windshield.

Umm...my screen is grey. Maybe it's because I'm playing on a Chromebook or what but I've tried several times and every time it's a black square and grey background. I really wanna play though, it sounds like a really cool game :( please someone reply to this or someone FIX THIS!!!
Interesting, this was happening before but I thought I had fixed it. Assume it’s happening on Chrome browser if you’re using a Chromebook?
Yes, it's on a Chrome browser. Maybe it's because of the Chromebook brand, or model or what but if it helps this is a C202S ASUS Chromebook. If you can fix it that would be great, and it's ok if it takes a long time. I can wait.

Fucks is surprisingly effective with all the bombs. On the 2nd to last level with all the normal ants, you just spam fucks and hit them all :D

revered isn’t a word ):<. Also it would be nice if ~ (comma) / (comma) , (comma) and - could be part of words. Example: K-pop
since you're going to complain about revered, k-pop also isn't a word. K-pop is a abbreviation for korean pop music, as I'm sure you know.
True but in the context of the real world it may as well be because it is used so often that some people don’t even know what the K is for

It’s using a Scrabble-like word list for valid words — so no hyphenated words, or proper nouns (like “Korean”).
I guess they updated it? I don’t have a screenshot or maybe there was some obscure modifier but It didn’t work for me

Where do I work again?
Your recent update to fix some random error pushed this game to the top of the New list, and now it's the top of New & Popular. Really solid game, easy to learn, and the upgrades seemed impactful. I'd love to see a version of this that was more about trying to "stay alive" by not letting the ants escape. Like you had a limited number of "crumbs" by the keyboard and when the ants got them all it was game over.

I usually hate typing games. Mainly because i use 3 different keyboard languages with different alphabets daily, so usually i get overwhelmed. But in this the speed bonus wasn't forced and if i needed time to put together a longer word, i didn't feel too pressured to do so. The music and sound were great. The visual quickly got crowded, but not too bad.
Over all the only complaint i have is that the game ends with an upgrade sellection before going to the endscreen and restarting, which seems like an oversight. But overall its a great game! Really liked this one.
