The Soul
A downloadable game for Windows
The Soul is a suspenseful slasher with a PS1-era aesthetic, set in a remote rural landscape. Two friends, a house in the middle of nowhere, and a presence that turns silence into a threat. Restrained imagery, shadows that reveal less than they suggest, and a steadily growing tension conveyed through the stillness of the fields.
The Soul began development around November or December of 2022, but was eventually canceled. In 2025, I decided not only to return to its development but to completely recreate it.
The game contains 3 endings.

I love these PS1-styled games. We definitely need more of these. The concept and design are so simple, but I love the story itself. Great work yet again.

ESP: Buen juego, me gusto mucho la ambientacion estilo PS1, bastante nostalgico la verdad XD. Hay partes donde esta un poco bugeado cerca del final pero realmente el resto esta muy bien. Lo disfrute demasiado en directo :).
ENG: Good game. I liked a lot the PS1 ambientation, pretty nostalgic XD. There are some parts where is a little buggy near the ending but the rest is very good. I enjoyed the game a lot live ;).
Had a lot of fun playing your game! Felt a lot like what a slasher film would feel like. Definitely got me good! Just the extreme fear of being chased by someone! Terrifying. Loved every second of it!

Always late to the party lol. This was honestly really good! I can see why you cancelled it though. The story itself is really generic and boring, and what really stands out here is the quality of the game and the endings. The true one is a perfect cliffhanger. xD

Really neat and atmospheric game. I was sad I either couldn't figure out how, or just that it wasn't implemented to go into the other house and learn more. But, I'm glad you returned to this game to finish it up either way! Thanks for sharing this with us!
