How large is the difference between the demo and full version?

Hi there,

I was playing the mac demo and encountered an error.

It occurred on the last winter day, after selecting "Trick her into lowering her guard".

How do i get more wealth tokens im so confused

Totally blown away by how much content is packed into the demo alone! I absolutely loved making choices to try and set up my little mushroom daughter for success. In the end she chose a life of crime but kids, eh? What can you do. I included this game in a cozy games compilation (see linked), thanks so much for creating it!

The Android Demo Version (9d1) seems to have issues addressed in the paid version (1.2 and up) solved ~1 month ago. They occur on the Main Menu. This issue is easily repeatable when starting the game; alternatively, it can also occur when you ignore the error, open the menu, and return to the Main Menu, repeating the errors for Shaders (0:39, 0:45, 0:83, 0:93, and 0:94).

As a hopefully helpful additional aside, one can ignore the error, but when this compilation fails it leads to issues later in gameplay as well. When growing a Mushroom I encountered an issue with a slime-esque Mushroom (I could not identify it for various reasons). When being shown the "Chapter 3: A Girl On Her Own" screen, it is unable to be displayed due to the same Shader Compilation error.

Naturally I would ignore it, but this also means I cannot view the "Info" tab either, giving the same errors which causes a massive gameplay issue where I cannot view the traits said Mushroom—additionally, it can be assumed that it would be impossible to complete the run (as when reaching the end it will display the Info Screen for that Mushroom, therefore "soft-locking" that playthrough).

I understand the demo for Android in particular may not be a focus at this point (the other demo versions are in 9d5), but it would be appreciated if this issue were resolved.

Hey! I play the demo version [since I can't get the full one because money] and when I chose the color orange, when my mushroom grew up, she became brown??? and in another run when I chose red, it turned into verdigris. is that normal or is my game going insane?

Yup that normal, the little brown mushroom will always be or becomes brown, but for the second one I haven't came across yet

certain colors (like verdigris) are changed to and unlocked with daughters with the Delicate Hue trait!

there is so much to be found in this! i adore it. trying to raise more mushroom types, and also to unravel the remaining mysteries. i think there is more to be found in the kid/waif/revenger's story, especially in regards to restoring the sword in the first one. i wish she (the crone) had stuck around, i liked her a lot!

the garden system is really fun and helpful! though im letting it go to weeds rn to raise more faildaughters

anyway here are my notes on restoring the sword in the kid's story, though i havent managed it yet.

notes lay out that you need an effigy of faith belonging to the weapon, a blade with the power of rebirth, the weapon itself, and an altar of its faith.

the blade of rebirth is found in the old growth at the beginning. i think the effigy of faith is the fei talisman found in the river, though im not certain. the weapon itself is in the bed upstairs.

as for the altar, the lady's diary states the altar of her faith is "hidden within", and that the word to unlock it is "Epichloe". i think the kid's name is Epichloe as said in later stories? my thought for the altar was it was either the lady('s shade) herself, or perhaps using Epichloe as a password in the main menu, but these dont seem to do it. any usage of knife, talisman, or sword on the shade seems to still just crumble the sword. she has it restored in later stories. my next guess is using a mushgirl named Epichloe to run through the story.

its far more simple than all that! i never slashed up the portrait in the foyer bc i felt like it was disrespectful. but there's a hidden passage to a literal altar within it. after reading the journal and learning the password, the kid will unlock it, and can do the ritual with all the items and instruction.

and here are my general tips for the game.

card icons representing different stats:

mushroom with an eye in a pair of hands: humanity/magic (magic is tied to humanity)

small mushroom with waves and stars coming from it: potency/poison

mushroom with roots and rays: mycelium/brightness

large mushroom with scales: robustness/strength

dripping mushroom: dampness/melancholy

cards with a border of larger mushrooms and gems have additional story effects. example: giving the witch a tome when making your daughter will teach her to read. they can, alternatively, reflect past story events.

There currently a bug on the android version were it has a error every time you try to go on the garden were a error will pop up. (this game is really good continue the good work!)

are you on 1.1 or 1.2? 1.2 should have that fixed :)

wow. this is a wonderful, wonderful, truly remarkable project. narratively and stylistically irreproachable, and technically -- I mean, half the time I was playing this thing I kept thinking "is this REALLY renpy ??" I really don't think that aspect can be overstated; this may well be the most well-designed (from a technical POV, to say nothing of the actual aesthetics, which are also unique and wonderful) piece of software ever put together with the renpy engine. I cannot even imagine the pains endured to make some of the more complex menuing / UI stuff not completely fall apart. From a gamejam project no less ... Your presumed suffering is felt and appreciated tremendously, as it all went into creating an outstanding work of art.


Thank you for making it ; thank you doubly for sharing it. It's a real joy to read and experience. I love my lesbian girlfailure fungal daughter. 

also issues playing the android version, im on a pixel 9. 

ShaderError: 0:39: S0001: Type mismatch in arithmetic operation between 'vec2' and 'int' 

happens after starting. can usually click ignore, but it causes further errors further down, eventually not able to ignore to progress anymore.

but i love how this game came out!! what i got to play was excellent. ive been looking forward to it and remembered to check if it was finished. telnaga from cohost, love that i could contribute screentones 💛

on linux (mint) trying to unzip through the console gives "end-of-central-directory signature not found"; extracting through archive manager and trying to run in python gives "Could not import renpy.bootstrap", "ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'future'". i am now going to play on windows :)

Ah, I think we were able to find the issue with the Android code! New versions shouldn't have that shader error.

After the new update, the MASSIVE problem on android still persist (ShaderErrors 39, 45, 83, 93 & 94).

Love the game, but help is needed.

We're currently only able to test on a single Android phone (a Samsung Galaxy S9), but we're unable to reproduce this error. What phone are you using?

We just posted a new version here that I think should fix the shader issues. If not, let me know and I think there's one more thing we can try. (We'll have a new phone for testing on soon as well, so hopefully that should make things easier in the coming months)

Full version on Android; Main menù inaccessibile. Only manager to play a little by spamming "ignore" anytime an error comes by (with middeling resoults). Always gaining "infestation" as a bonus trait starting a run and can't see the "info" of the daughter until i manager to loose the trait. Many more problems sui generis.

Good day to you, dearest developers. I'm absolutely charmed by your game and all the additions you've made. I love the story, and raising my tiny army of shroomgirls was pretty fun.

The only thing I'm concerned about is that the story ends at the exact same point as the demo version — one year for a shroom life seems pretty unfair...

Yet again, I do LOVE your game and respect the effort you've put in it, my greedy ass just wanted a little bit more additional content. Any plans on upcoming updates?

Hello, I just tried the demo and love the style! Unfortunately I've been having an issue where the screen flickers and breaks after a moment- switching the renderer to ANGLE2 fixes it, but that gives me a bunch of errors on startup and breaks the main menu. Is there any other way to fix this? Here's a video showing the issue and a pic of the error screen when switching to ANGLE2 :)

I've encountered a bug when battling with the Master after the first round of battle. Full Version - Mac. The text box shrinks, but the text does not fit in it and no options are given to proceed with the story. It just sits there. I've loaded my auto save and it happens regardless of what I choose.

As the strongest mushroom girl, JoGOAT, fought the fraud, The Witch of The Woods, she began to open her domain. The witch shrank back in fear, then JoGOAT said: "Stand proud, Witch of The Woods, you're strong".

I defeated her by the way. Very nice story and game overall — looking forward to buy a full version of it.

OMG, the art and UI of this game is stunning.

Iam checking for mainstream games and this was recommended from another visual novel from itch, I clicked and was totally blown away.

Iam downloading it now, and cannot say more, but rest assured i will return and provide a full review.

I played 5 runs, and of these 5 runs I got the same type Girl (the weird Girl without stats), why that happens to me, I think I got glitched that?

To get a good daughter, you need to nourish her! Try picking options that are of the same "type" (look at the symbol/icon on the card with each choice). You also should try to keep your stats high when she's growing-- don't let her starve, for example. Good luck!

It means you either neglected her like everlyn101 said, or that you chose too many opposing things when it came to the girl's development. Each choice has an icon that shows which type it is, it's generally helpful to make choices that have the same icon to guide her down a path. For example, making a bunch of choices with the dampness icon during the recluse's section will likely have her turn into either a hairy mycena or a ink cap mushroom if she's relatively well cared for.

No. There are two protagonists, the man you start the game as, and their "daughter", the mushroom girl/matango you play as through most of the narrative. The man's a hermit with no interest in any relationships, and the girl has little in the way of romance in the demo.

The recluse has no confirmed gender in game, just referred to them as such since they were asking if there were any gay relationships. Since the recluse doesn't partner with any men or male entities in any of the current endings, just used them as an example to make that clear. Guess my referring to them as a man came as force of habit, since the recluse always felt more masculine in my mind, the father figure to the Witch's mother figure.

The game does include gay content, just w/w instead of m/m. It still falls under the category, so there's no reason to remove it. The only people who can remove it are the devs, and I doubt they'd do that.

One of the best life sim games I've had the pleasure of perusing thus far on Itch, the demo alone is well worth the investment of time to see what's possible. Eagerly awaiting what comes next, found myself liking this little gem far more than I thought I would MMG.

I've only gotten one ending so far, and it was so cute and cozy! It's a bit strange that the stats from the first few chapters carried on into the next chapter where we played the parent despite it having been a long time since. I also wish there was a little table showing what the floaty symbols that appear after we make a choice mean.

Otherwise, absolutely adorable! Will probably play again sometime. What a huge generous demo!

hello sweet devs. i see the game was just updated for android. i also see some ppl requested an android update in the comments. since i've only played/seen the game on android, idk what they're asking for. i'm guessing other platforms were on a newer iteration? is there a changelog, or something in the devlog talking about what's in this update?


i also just wanna express my appreciation. this game is a wonderful & immersive  combo of atmosphere, cuteness, action, adventure, and silliness. i was hoping to find some text-based RPG games for android and never expected it to come in such a warm and beautiful package. clearly made with love, thank you so much 🖤
