JACK ROCKET: SOLO EDITION RPG
A downloadable game
JACK ROCKET: SOLO EDITION invites solo roleplayers to the Future of Yesteryear. Inspired by the black-and-white serial TV shows of the 1950s, JACK ROCKET takes retro Rockets and Ray-Guns science fiction and gives it a modern spin.
56 pages of solo Oracle Engines across ten chapters:
- CHARACTER CREATION
- CORE RULES
- GAME LOOP
- EPISODE ORACLE
- SCENE ENGINE
- NOIR TWIST
- FACTION PLOTS
- THE FINAL SCENE ENGINE
- SOLO START ADVENTURE
- RETRO DEATH & OUTRO
JACK ROCKET is retro-future pulp sci‐fi, played straight. It is the future as imagined by 1954 television: bright uniforms, rayguns, rocket packs, noble speeches, and looming Cold‐War paranoia.
The characters believe in the dream, AND know they are on set.
The players know the cracks are showing.
Buy the game today and join Jack Rocket of the Rocket Corps™ to fight the evils of an ever hostile Solar System, in the future that never happened.

Another question comes to mind. When you spend 3 charges to advance your character, what are your choices for advancement?
P18 Sir Star: 'CHARGES & LEVEL UP ' :)
Thanks, Q. We saw that, of course, but another section in the book seems to offer slight contradictions to that section. In parsing the system, we've come across what appear to be a few artifacts from earlier drafts. Nevertheless, the game is quite compelling.
If you've any notes mate, please do share them. We're trying to catch all such inconsistencies before v0-3-0. You've got my email :) Thanks so much!
While thumbing through my newly acquired copy of this marvelous looking game, a couple of questions came to mind.
How does one's character acquire additional armor, weapons, etc., beyond their starting gear?
Is it possible to play the game with more than one PC, without having to make major adjustments?
Hey Star Knight! Thanks so much for your kind words and your query.
Drop me an email at mark.a.quire@gmail.com, and I'll send you a draft of the ACQUISITION Chapter that's actually work in progress for the full multiplayer edition of the game we'll publish later in the year. A little tweaking will make it work for Solo, too. :)
Which kinda answers your second question too! Solo Edition IS geared directly towards solo play. I can't see any reason why it couldn't work with more than one player, tho! In fact... I think it would barely need any adjustment at all.... I suppose the one point of contention could be that the game really does heavily rely on the player making creative choices. Maybe it could be as simple as taking terms to be creative lead? That could work, and--in fact--if you should ever give that a try, I'd love to hear an actual play of how it goes! Pretty exciting idea, actually!
Drop me that email, SK, I'll send the ACQUISITION chapter over to you. Thanks again, and hey! Your Avatar pic is very JACK ROCKET. :D Good stuff.
Cheers for now,
- Quire
Many thanks, Quire! Email sent.
