It is the year Earth Century 225, and the only hope for humanity's future in space lies in the hands of the Trans-Neptunian Objects, a utopian collective on the edge of the Solar System, dedicated to protecting the all-important Voyager 1 probe from the hands of the tyrannical Earth Sphere. But Eris has two problems: the first is that she has fallen head over heels for her fencing instructor, an exhausted older woman who Eris longs to bring light back to the eyes of. The second problem is that her instructor is Comet Halley, who was the Earth Sphere's legendary ace fighter until she was finally captured by Neptune... but only after killing dozens of Voyager Militia mecha in the process. Halley is one of the most famous turncoats in human history, and definitely one of the most deadly.

But Eris is certain with all her heart that she has a chance, and knows that if she's determined enough, she won't get betrayed or be taken advantage of for trying. Definitely not! The fate of the entire Solar System depends on it!

Bought it on release, read it in one day yesterday. Absolutely loved it. A very complete romance, a bit of a stubborn one too -- but that's good because I feel like I both identify with that more and also find a much more sincere expression of attachment.
Also hot. In the great way of, if I were this into someone, yes, of course I'd be a bit lustful too. But also we get to explore different sides of this as the characters change.
I dunno what really else to say that would be of substance. I'm just kinda rambling gushing at how it's another great work and I really really vibe with its presentation.
Ooh I heard this features a trans gal? Any reason the transgender tag isn't used for the book too? :0
The protagonist is incidentally trans, but if you're expecting gender-related themes in the book I think you'll be disappointed, sorry!
No worries! I'll remove it from my collection then (https://itch.io/c/5067133/trans-women-in-sexy-situations) as it was recommended to me to add, but I always go by what the author's say and not what readers say, since I like to let the artists speak on the themes of their work more.

Very wonderful world, and story. The messy kind of relationship I love to see Christine Love explore backed by a creative and philosophically interesting bit of world building that allows conflicts to feel less tethered to the hyper-specifics of physics and a lot more in the metaphysical space between the people fighting. The inspiration from Heaven Will Be Mine is crystal clear, but it definitely does its own thing. This really left me hoping to see a VN or other work in this space.
I loved this so much!! The tension of Eris and Halley's relationship, the exciting action scenes, the fascinating worldbuilding... It was hard to put down (or well, stop scrolling, since I read it on my laptop)! This was such a great read! <3
