I, like Icarus, flew too close to the sun. The Terrible Poll kept being a little bastard because it was Too Big and refusing to accept answers. So it has now been cut in half. Hopefully this makes it less rude to y'all.

If you already did the poll and submitted your response, you're good. We have your answers saved and safe. No need to retake it.

The split is based on the gender line since it was a stark division in the first poll. There were people who saw the world as being ABO+M/F and there were people who saw the world as being ABO as a replacement for M/F.

Thus:

The Version WITHOUT Gender (alphas, betas, etc)

The Version WITH Gender (alpha male, beta woman, etc)

If you have one of the fantastically complex systems that doesn't really fit either, pick which gets closest, and do your normal write ins.

I'm not saying the "Lace DLC" theory is, like, super credible; however, I will observe that, given that literally the only reason Silksong exists as a separate game and not a Hollow Knight DLC is because Team Cherry realised that Hornet is too tall for most of Hallownest's platforming sequences to translate smoothly for her, and being as they'd need to design a whole new world map anyway, they might as well make it a whole new game, it's definitely interesting that Silksong goes out of its way to give Hornet a designated rival who has the exact same hitbox.

The 2024 Gender Census is now open!

The 11th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th June 2024.

It’s short and easy, about 5 minutes probably.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
