A more important bug  

Sometimes start of battle abilities doesnt activate 

Was belly drum on charizard 

Drougt on ninetales 

And if I remember correctly rain dance on quagsaier

Bugs?: 

Bulk up only ups defence 

Electro ball (on electrode at least) does not do doble damage)

brock does not can purcharse yellow cards

All of this maybe arent bugs 

I am playing on android

Really great game! Cant wait for more updates

The game crashed or bugged when I defeated mewtwo. Guess he was right saying it's his domain.

hey aspiring game dev and lover of unicorn overlord as well. This game is pretty fun and I really love the overall aesthetic. Is this made in Godot?

There's a bug where you'll get a pokemon above the level it's supposed to evolve and it'll stay it's pre-evolution state.

I think you just need it to level up once and then it evolves

Cara, meus parabéns, que jogo incrível! Simplesmente passei os últimos 10 dias das minhas férias jogando seu jogo, tentando zerar com todos os personagens possíveis!  Tenho algumas dúvidas para tirar, pequenos bugs para avisar e ideias para melhorar ainda mais esse jogo que já tá muito bom.

Mas antes de tudo queria saber: vc ainda está ativo no desenvolvimento desse jogo? Vi que a última atualização foi há 42 dias atrás...

Hey, I came here to make aware of a bug in the Battle Frontier mode the game always stops working at exactly this point and the picture down below is from my third run thinking I was just unlucky with the bug but it keeps happening.

some big youtubers are covering this game its a great game hope the creator keeps making this game better and better

my game file is broken some how i have no trainers i can use so i cant start a new run

First of all: great game! Now for feedback:
It's just... i wanna play more of it, but kinda don't really feel an incentive to? I already beat all the secret bosses, beat both alternate modes, and won with the awesomely gimmicky crossover characters (Except for the most expensive char in league challenge, the pokemon colloseum one - i need to double check if he's so expensive because of his stacked pair of starters, or because he actually has a gimmick of stealing other people's pokemon via having the shop stock said mon' at a discount after every battle.). Sure, i could 100% the league challenge and normal runs, but the latter feels more like a side dish than a real meat and potatoes mode, and as for the former - finding an awesome rare card like a shiny feels amazing, and then i realize they don't fit my team and there's like 3 battles left before the run ends, and then it just feels bad.
I just wish there was a way to keep using all those awesome cards - and since you already themed the game after not just pokemon, but the pokemon TCG? Well, why not lean into it more, with an actual TCG mode?

Collecting badges for beating league challenges is neat, but ultimately boring.

Collecting new pokemon cards to use in future runs? Now that's what the series is all about!

Better yet, the VS/PVP mode already has the perfect UI for this, it just needs a few tiny tweaks. Here's how it could work:

  • You unlock TCG mode by winning a normal run. Doing so unlocks the starter mon' you beat the run with in your Pokedex/collection.
  • (I don't think beating the League challenge should unlock the respective starter mon... then again, that's just my gut feeling, and it's probably the most sensible way to unlock the crossover cards. Maybe just make exceptions for secret cards?)
  • As an aside, earning a badge (winning with a starter team/league challenge for the first time) should award bonus BP, in a manner that's clearly indicated to the player. This encourages trying out new things, and helps you unlock new content without having to mindlessly grind BP by abusing one strong starter set you found.
  • TCG mode is basically a normal run, but you start by picking up to 6 pokemon from your collection. Why not 3? Well, talk to Wattson, he'll explain why! Also because getting new mon' mid-run should be harder due to:
  • The card shop in TCG mode is modified to cost BP instead of Pokedollars. That's because it's the main way to add new cards to your collection, so it makes sense to cost the metaprogression currency. This leaves the cafe as the only spot where to spend in-run money, though... So maybe add a second card shop marchant that still sells pokemon for $ - but with the caveat that you don't unlock the cards you buy there unless you actually win the run.
    (Also, your starter mon should sell for minimum cash in that case, just so you can't abuse things by bringing a few legendaries as cash fodder. Or just disable selling cards entirely in the mode.)
  • To prevent the game from becoming too easy as a result of an all-legendary team, we can reuse the rarity limitations of the VS mode - and turn them into a difficulty selector. Higher difficulties make the game harder(via buffing enemy trainers - ideally it would also add legendaries to their teams at higher difficulties/ranks, but that's a lot more work than the few mechanics tweaks needed to add this mode and giving every NPC some vitamins..), but give more BP when you actually win.
    No reason to stop players from crushing rank 1 with a team of legendaries, or challenging the hardest difficulty with a ragtag bunch of commons, though.
  • Similar to earning badges, beating a run with a 'mon in your party should add a little star mark to it's icon, and give some bonus BP - this is to encourage players to try out different team comps, rather than mindlessly grind the same OP team.

I hope some of this was inspiring feedback - it should be rather easy and fast to implement the basics, but tweaking NPC teams to include legendaries rather than simply giving them generic stat boosts would actually take a ton of work..

Anyways, i'm looking forwards to the next update! where legendaries are supposedly more important?

I think it would be cool to make battle frontier have easy normal and hard mode easy is 30 battles normal 40 hard 50 you never get to battle against legendary pokemon (highest rarity) I would love to truely be challenged in this game I am addicted but I have got too good

how do I unlock mewtwo mode I have beaten the main story like 3 times and I still dont have it

You have to beat Mewtwo check further down if you struggle.

Hi there , pleased to see a nice pokemon fan game !

I've just noticed a bug or maybe it is me but it seems that everytime I export and put my save onto my phone I can't import even if it is in a file that I can export in. Maybe you have an idea. (Android)

Just so you know i've tried to do multiple things though couldn't get it to work. I can export the file and put it on my pc without fail but when I export from pc then put it inside my phone, i dont see it in the files suggested. Hopefully you'll find something . 

please either make more trainers with different pokemon or some type of randomized story mode where trainers have random pokemon 

hi,i lieave this comment to say that ive encountered a small bug,when a pokemon who is using metronome attack another with a talent like extreme speed and kill it with the game bugs, you can t choose your following attack and the attack launched seems to be spammed until death. soory if what i said isn't understandable english is not my first language

I loved this playthrough and can't wait for more updates :p love the hidden secrets in the game and references.  just want more deck options/choices. really  cool project

Great game! I've spent days just playing it and trying to get all the secret content so it's definitely 5 stars! A lot of care and time was definitely put into this project and it shows.


One major bug i'm surprised nobody's mentioned is the music doesn't loop , so the battle/lobby song will play once and then just complete silence which can be a little jarring. Still a great project and would love to see more!

Some bugs with npcs: Sometimes npcs that are supposed to be spawned in pairs have one of them spawned in a wall or a different place (image one is the insecure kid pair, image 2 is the dragon lady and the two npcs are in completely different spots) 

Also I can't for the life of me find the front half of the key :((

There is a bug in versus mode, sometimes, some pokemon selected are'nt in the battle.

[SPOILERS]How do people beat mewtwo? I've gotten to him several times, beat the mirror team,and my last run I even survived his psystrike assault with all my pokemon still alive, but because I'm out of AP by the time he attacks it just says I did 0% damage to him and he wins by default. 


Do you have to cheese it with protect or have a way to insta-kill the mirror fight with explosion or something?

Mew is a insta win, you can unlock him using the key 

I got the cursed key and the key from the letter but couldn't figure out the code for the door upstairs lol

Only beaten him by using Mew, because Mew skips the first phase of the battle. No idea how to beat him without cheese strats, like Shedinja.

I just wanted to say that when i downloaded the file, it wasn't opening. It was because the file ended with .5, so it tried to open it as a .5 file lol. I use linux mint btw

Created this in order to give thanks for your awesome work and time in order to create this game. Finished all decks/Mewtwo and Frontier. Currently trying to unlock and finish  all league characters. Had a huge laugh witnessing Yugi into this game and finding Persona/Megami Tensei references as well as the Skyrim ones .


Could you tell me how many secrets there are inside the game? Or list a name for each secret in order to try and figure out how to find it? i dont wish to get spoiled by reading other comments . I would really appreciate it <3

First of all, the game is amazing and really addictive!
I’ve encountered a small bug during my recent playthroughs:


The event with the level 9 Rattata that drops the “Torn Page” can be twisted if the trainer hasn’t been defeated beforehand. The event still triggers, but the trainer’s team is composed of their usual three Pokémon. The battle reward is correctly given, but after progressing to the next tournament stage, it’s possible to fight the same trainer again (in the card shop), this time with the correct team. I now have two “Torn Pages”.

Music often shutdown for no reason

I love the yugi kaiba interactions and unlocking kaiba was really special and satisfying, as a fan who grew up with both shows I really appreciate your effort!

The creativity is outstanding, every little secret (won’t spoil) is on point!!!

I’ve never been on this platform, made the account just because of your work.

Hey, I really love this game and the updates it's had so far, so I'd like to address some issue/bugs that might help further improve the game, and give some optional suggestions I'd like to see considered.

Bugs:

There is a bug that will softlock you in mewtwo mode if you go into the MISSING door.  (also with mewtwo mode, this may be intentional but the levels are often different, and the display for the opponents moves also mirrors your own even if they have a different moveset)

I had a few instances where foul play/brine don't actually buff the damage of the move when it should. 

Text wrapping is sometimes offset. (I've seen this occasionally with spamming z/x and once where the text just got jumbled in the middle), most of the time this is just 1 character/space off

Some of the descriptions don't match. This is really just semantics but it is weird that some mons also have 2 of the same ability while others have 1 ability and one "none". Really just pointing this out for consistencies sake.

Suggestions:

More stuff. I'm a big fan of stuff. Whether that be moves, abilities, mons, mon forms, trainers, types, etc. I'd love to see more mons also taking advantage of their signature characteristics too. I understand how this is probably like one of the hardest things to do from a dev standpoint, but I'm very appreciative of any extra content. (also I love all the easter eggs, would love to see more of those as well)

More balanced mons. I know that a lot of this is supposed to be unbalanced as you get better mons as you progress, but there are many mons that just don't have any utility on a team and I hate to see them squandered. The multihit moves especially are pretty weak for the AP cost, and the damage it lists on the move doesn't align with the damage it deals (more significant than just rounding). Also I believe this is intentional, but high rarity mons that evolve can bypass the item balancing by feeding them before they evolve. This is fine to have, but it means there's no reason to run weak mon over smth like ttar. 

Cancelling evolution. I think this was already suggested, and maybe there's already a method I'm just unaware of, but a pikachu with item boosts can be much better than a raichu. There's a few other instances, and this could be a cool challenge to run as well.

More items/held items. A rare item to turn a mon into it's shiny rainbow star variant could be cool. I also think the premise of having small buff items in battle could make it more interesting, like the arceus plates/1.2x boost items to buff a specific damage type, berries, or maybe even something like weakness policy. So long as the AI can also effectively use them, it should just add more options to the game. 

Harder difficulty. I know there is the battle frontier and mewtwo mode, but once you learn the game you almost always have an abundance of health and it's not too hard to beat oak on almost every run. The mewtwo battle definitely requires more planning, but I'd much prefer to have a gamemode with more rounds/higher level cap, and stronger opponents. If this means an update to the battle frontier then I'm all for it. This could also be a sort of nuzlocke variant where you only have 1 life and can't use items. But I do think more rounds is very necessary, you don't have long to really get attached to and grow your team, once you get mons to lvl 7 you really just sell the slack and commit to 3-4 powerhouses. I also don't know if ledgendaries can appear in runs, but after about 20 wins or so I've never seen them in shop, but a rare chance for them would pair well with longer runs.

Tutorial/FAQ section. A lot of it is intuitive if you've played this style of game before, but more information is always nice to have, especially for beginners.

This is an amazing game with a ton of potential. I'd like to thank you for the ability to play it (and play for free :D). I only hope the direction taken for this game remains positive, and I'm excited for what's more to come. Many thanks and best of luck in development.
