I realized I’ve released this VN a few months ago and I didn’t even talk about it here!
Univocity is a short, 4K ready, cyberpunk visual novel wrapped in neon aesthetics with a lush atmospheric soundtrack, featuring a deep and emotional conversation between two people about taking down a global tech monopoly and the responsibility that it entails.
I made it because I wanted to capture that feeling of a big neon city where everything feels overwhelming, and yet the story zooms in on just two people talking inside a tower. It’s basically one long conversation, but depending on your choices it can go in different directions and lead to multiple endings.
The art is a mix of pixel art and algorithmic art (no AI stuff), and I also put a lot of effort into selecting the soundtrack to make it feel immersive. It’s meant to be something you can play in one sitting but hopefully sticks with you afterwards and leaves you pondering.
