a fellow car crash survivor!
The game was quite interesing, looking at the name and the title screen I didn't expect the entire game to take place in a brain zone, so that was definitely a strange place!
When it comes to the final puzzle I'm not sure if I solved it the intended way, but I couldn't find a way to connect the final "cable", so I just started spamming jump near a pillar and eventually I climbed to the needed height.
Overall enjoyed the game! Great job on it!
Really fun game! I really like how the controls felt. At first the blocks moving like they were on ice felt a bit too unpredictable to make them work in the levels, but then I noticed that swapping back into the platformer mode stops their movement, adding a little bit of action / speedrunny feeling to the entire thing.
I liked it a lot!
The game's aesthetic looks great! Though the game itself looked different from what I expected from the title screen and the thumbnail.
The puzzles are cool once you figure them out, (The piano one was my favorite) but I've noticed that there are some ways to get soft-locked, and I had to restart the game to progress.
It was quite nice!
Super glad You enjoyed it so much! ^^
When it comes to learning Godot I'm self-taught, (That is I just messed around the engine trying out random things and reading the documentation on any roadblocks), but 2 channels that I really like when it comes to the tutorials for cerain systems and tricks in the engine are Gwizz and Queble!
As for my own advice: In my opinion the best way to learn Godot is to just stick to one (although simple) project that you know how you want everything to look in, and stubbornly try to create at least a few systems that resemble your vision.
Since you've created games in GameMaker, you could try to recreate one 1:1 in Godot just to see how the workflow looks like, what you like and what you don't like. Good Luck!!
Aaa thank you for the in depth review!!
I'm so glad you liked the game and it's twist!
When it comes to sound and the clipping issue, that's something I got aware of after uploading the web build to itch.io, in the editor the issue was not present so I left it as-is, I'll definitely fix it with an after jam update for the game that I already have some QoL features ready for, and I hope that this issue didn't tank too many points in rates for audio in the game.
You got it right with the WASD free movement section's goal to be a little bit misleading for the player for where the game's trying to go to make the reveal a bit less predictable, At first during the development it was a bit longer (moving around the car to find and pick up the knife, etc) but it dragged the length of the playthrough arbitrarily and it felt wrong to keep.
Again, Thank You for your time and the review, much appreciated! ^^
Here's my game!

I'd love to see what you think about it ((and to see your live reaction for the twist ^^)
That was super cool! You nailed the smoothness of the jumping controls, they felt so smooth and responsive, I loved it!
Loved it so much that I decided to try and claim the #1 spot on the Leaderboard and managed! ((altough I might revisit if someone decides to take that one from me haha))
Great game! (the ancient greece level is so terrifying when it comes to the tension)
Are You still doing this? It sound so fun, I wonder where'd you put my game on the list ^^
Here it is: https://deltatee.itch.io/crossroads
Here's mine! https://deltatee.itch.io/crossroads
It's a short story game with a twist about trust!
Not gonna spoil the what the twist is exactly about, but I hope You'll enjoy it!!
Yup! I loved the atmosphere of Moirai back in the day, With Crossroads I wanted to capture the feeling of experiencing it for the first time, as well as correct some things that I think wouldn't work after 10 years anymore. (like using a code system instead of inputting emails, so the players don't have to give the game their private information)
I'm super glad you liked it and thanks for playing! ^^
hi hiii! 🩵
I'm going to have some free time tomorrow that I'd like to spend on rating some of the jam's games, so feel free to post them below!
I'll add them to the list and I'll start working through it as soon as I'm available ^^
I'd also really appreciate if you checked my game out as well!
It's name is Crossroads, and it's a short story game with a twist about trust - anything more would spoil the experience, trust me ^^
