Oh...I see. BambooBasic looks complicated and very sophisticated........Good job! I really hope that you will overcome all problems encountered. Sure! Moreover, when BambooBasic is ready, I also hope that you will develop an awesome entry for BASIC Jam to show us the full power of this programming language! Yeah!

Hello, maybe this list is helpful to some participants!
The key things which entrants should pay attention to when joining the game jam:
1. Read the rules carefully.
2. Choose your tools wisely. Stick to BASIC dialects and development tools which you are familiar with.
3. Decide if you’ll go solo or team. If in a team, clarify roles (coding, art, audio, design).
4. During development, keep the project small and achievable within the time limit. A polished prototype beats an unfinished big game.
5. Focus on building around a single fun creative gameplay. Quickly prototype and improve.
6. Don't waste time to reinvent libraries. Use available ones.
7. Be flexible.
8. Test before submission.
9. Don’t chase perfection.
10. Enjoy the jam. Jams are about learning, creativity, experimentation, networking and fun.
11. Rests and pacing yourself can help you stay sharp.
Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!
Hello!!!
I want to remind you that the 3 selected themes for this jam will be announced soon(about 16 hours later)!
Don't forget to come back to check and select a theme for your entry. I am looking forward to playing the game(entry) made by you. Yeah!!!
Using your favourite BASIC dialect to make a creative entry! Sharing your game development experience with other participants here!
New features introduced in this new release:
- Vehicle Actors - These are raycast vehicle objects in bullet that have transforms applied to actors for the chassis and wheels
- Composite Actors - These actors have compound shapes for making shapes more complex
- Sprites can now add child sprites
- New vector math functions
- Added the ACTOR_SHAPE_IMPACT_MESH shape
- Added a function for saving images to *.bmp files
- Sprites now keeps the source image that was set when an animation was made. This is also fully implemented in the Nirvana 2D editor.
- There are a few new examples that show off some of the new features.
- The manual has a new theme.
- There are new entries in the manual covering sprites and 3D graphics more indepth.

Imagine this, the ideal situation should be:
I wrote a new rule not to allow the use of AI in any part of the whole competition. In the meantime, all entrants are honest and don't ask any AI to help to make their games. Is this the best situation? Of course. However, the major issue should be that no one can prevent any entrant from using AI even I wrote this new rule. This new rule is almost useless. Right?
( I didn't mention anything about AI in the rules of this jam = Not disallow the use of AI in the jam. Even you or I want to solve this issue but there are only about 3 days before the start of the jam. Perhaps we can find a good solution about the use of AI in BASIC Jam #8. Do you agree?)
Hi, long time no see! How are you?
I remember that you liked to use Small Basic. I don't know whether you still like to use the language or not. I have written a comment on another programming language here: https://itch.io/post/15571740/view-in-topic
You are very welcome to read the post! Bye.
The programming language is nice.
https://github.com/VBAndCs/sVB-Small-Visual-Basic
Small Visual Basic(sVB) is an educational language. The development of Small Basic stopped in 2015. The author of sVB created sVB to improve Small Basic. The author of sVB has actively developed sVB in recent years and sVB has evolved Small Basic into a more powerful yet still beginner‑friendly tool.
The visual form designer was added to make sVB closer to Visual Basic but simplified for children and adult beginners. In fact, sVB is a stepping stone into VB.NET and eventually C#, giving learners a clear progression path. In the language package, there are a lot of interesting examples(over 160. Games, puzzles, animations, turtle graphics, Windows forms, etc.) for helping learners. The package also includes a debugger and LitDev library(for 3D and physics engines).
sVB is a thoughtful modernization of BASIC for education. It seems that it balances simplicity with power. As a result, children can easily learn programming and adult users can also use the language to develop ordinary applications. Small Visual Basic is a tribute to BASIC’s 60‑year legacy and a practical tool for teaching modern programming fundamental skills. If you like to use Small Basic, you will also like Small Visual Basic.
The facebook group is quite new. You will be interested in visiting the group if you like to write computer games in BASIC.

The group's focus is on game programming in BASIC and is not on computing nostalgia. Members of the group share code snippets, project demos and game updates in different BASIC dialects. For example, QB64 PE, QBJS, Blitz3D, etc. Knowledge and information of game programming can be obtained here as well. This group is also a nice showcase space for members' finished games. In my view , it’s a facebook group for any BASIC hobbyist who wants to continue the good tradition of BASIC game development. Yeah.
https://qb64phoenix.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=50
It is a nice sub-forum for BASIC enthusiasts. It is a sub-forum in the official forum of QB64 Phoenix Edition but is dedicated to discussions about different BASIC dialects (like QBJS, BAM, micro(A), SmallBASIC, etc.). In this sub-forum, forum members share code, demos, and tools across multiple BASIC dialects. Moreover, discussion threads often showcase demo programs or small games, along with APIs or utilities. Furthermore, users reply actively, offering improvements and feedbacks. In fact, the good atmosphere encourages experimenting with BASIC beyond QB64 Phoenix Edition, creating a broader retro programming ecosystem.
This sub-forum is small but moderately active. It is a lively space for BASIC dialect enthusiasts and is ideal for those who enjoy experimenting with retro programming languages, sharing demos, or joining niche jams. It doesn’t have the scale of mainstream programming community but the atmosphere in this sub-forum makes interactions more direct and creative. Sure!
Hello, I am very glad since the jam will start after 10 days!
I look forward to all entries from our participants! I expect that their entries will be fun and enjoyable! Yeah! The game jam will be an interesting and challenging social event. I really hope that all entrants will enjoy creating their nice games for this event! This jam will be a very friendly environment to exchange game development experiences among participants. The jam will also be an effective learning process. So enjoy the jam!
Hi, one more thing, this jam will start about 10 days later. If you make a game for this jam, this entry will be a good BazzBasic introduction to bring different BASIC lovers to learn about your new programming language.

The book is an introductory text for new programmers to learn how to code. It provides an excellent introduction to programming and AutoIt, and is for anyone who wants to understand the basics along with plenty of examples. AutoIt is a free automation software and BASIC scripting language for Windows. It is a very powerful tool and full featured applications can be created very quickly.

I think that SyntaxBoom forum is a nice forum and reading their posts are enjoyable.
It is a small but lively retro programming forum. Moreover, there is a consistent engagement from a core group of users. They share engines, ports and development logs. Recent forum activity shows that some forum threads have dozens of replies and views. The forum tone is casual, humorous and friendly. The administrator is the author of BambooBasic.
Maybe the forum is still small but it is clearly active and expanding. If you're into Blitz-family languages, BASIC dialects, game engines, code experiments, indie game development with a nostalgic twist, etc., it's worth checking in.
