So every once in a while your character just randomly combusts and loses a huge chunk of their hp because there's one enemy that looks identical to the others but spawn bombs at the player's position that gets triggered by the player's attacks, usually instantly because the player is attacking constantly?

Honestly it's kinda funni in the first 13 minutes, but it gets annoying fast when you are trying to win

Which is why I ended up just cheesed the game by staying out of the arena on the higher ledge (and still fail because this cheese doesn't exist in the boss stage -_-

Tbh almost every problem in this game can be simplified to "I didn't playtest this game at all xp"

I think I have this weird ideology that is "Being generic is worse than being bad." That's why I always spend so much time on things that feel cool rather than things that make the game fun.

Maybe next time when I join a short jam like this, I'll try not making the game too cool and instead put more time into playtesting. Maybe a generic platformer, except the weapon shoots bullets that go in reverse, like in Tenet.

Umm is there a way to hack my save file to a certain checkpoint? I tried adding a Goku mod into the game, but I instead accidently added Bill Cipher, which deleted my save file instead.

I later found out that the screen jittering was just my won computer's problem. Sorry!

Yeah I really spent too much time building an expandable combat system, which I didn't even expand it much after I realized that the mini-games should be the core part of the game, not the combat system.

I actually had some ideas to make some of the lower-cost actions situationally better than the higher-cost ones. For example, the Gunslinger was going to have a reload mechanic, where if he run out of ammo, he has to not collect any energy for him to use his reload action.

But... there isn't much stuff before the scary part start, either...

Also, for some reason, my character duplicated itself when I first played the game, but I cannot reproduce the bug.

And the screen jittering was pretty bad on my screen, for some reasons

Sorry I cannot finish the game (it was too scawwy 🥺)

Agree. This sequel is such a huge improvement. I don't recall myself finishing the last game, not even through the "early game" part. But this game actually has a reasonable and enjoyable early game.

Hey can you tell the delivery guy to just park the truck right into our room (R.E.P.O. style)? I am kinda lazy and don't wanna walk outside my dungeon every time I need to get something from the truck 🥴

Also I feel like a drunk person when playing with my controller, because even if I tilt my joystick just a little bit diagonally (like 15°) my character would walk diagonally.

The instruction wasn't very clear, but you actually need to go right (over the broken bridge) after you get your 𝓰𝓾𝓷

So do you believe that fart jokes belong to the peak Gen Alpha humour?

sorry

Hi Clarence :)

I can see you guys put a lot more effort into the dating sim part, compared to the first Kevin game which is just platforming. Unfortunately, I am kinda too autistic for love. (Plus I already have glgrd so I don't really need or want the weird airplane and train guys)

Also the D-pad up and down button doesn't work for the dodging part

lapopo

This game has many layers (just like Shrek 🧅)

  • The first layer is thinking that it's just a generic platformer adventure
  • The second layer is realizing that you are actually a pinball in a world full of bumpers
  • The third layer is picking up the MP(4+1) and you are suddenly doing "a great job, challenging work, and can never go hungry"
  • The fourth layer is Jetpack Joyriding until you waste all ur ammo and have to restart
  • The fifth layer is realizing that it's still a pinball game

Bob's flatulence was so powerful it lagged the entire universe whenever he farts 😱

also nice piano solo 😎🎧

Is there a secret ending to this game? I presume there is one because of how the retry button says that you click it to "rewrite the story", and the narrator volume is marked "important for story" so I presumed that disabling the narrator may change the ending. However, I simply don't have enough patience to replay the whole thing just for an alternate ending that might not exist, especially since how the gameplay element is honestly kinda weak, like the generic platformer you see everywhere on Scratch.mit.edu. The character is way too floaty with double jump, and they make the game slow and overly easy.

The hand-drawn sprites are kinda cool, though. I especially love the waving trees. Also the narrator is good.

so i just made another update and it will be the final one

the game is still pretty crap overall, though, with just 1 extra minigame (that i forgor to put instruction and may result in making it confusing af) so it's okay if you dont feel like replaying it

I actually planned to add more minigames. I just added another 1 2 but I still think there's too few. I also added bombs to minigames to make them more challenging. I'll let you know once I finished the rest 2 4 minigames.

Also my original idea was to just lie about the game's genre, and also trick the player into playing the wrong game.

I genuinely expect the QR code to be Rick Astley. I was disappointed. Not for too long, though.

The game itself is pretty charming and satisfying, but I find the "lock task" feature kinda janky.

I think the intended way to use it is just to have a farmhand doing the same thing in a 5 by 5 area. It's not very cost-effective since they will be idling for most of the time, but at least no repetitive input is required.

What's weird, though, is that I can cancel a locked task. Doing so will make the canceled farmhand doing the next available task in the queue. However, the icon of the locked task is still there, and when the farmhand finished their new job, they don't go back doing their original, locked one, and neither the icon for the original task nor the one for the new task will disappear.

The thumbnail may makes it look like a low effort Scratch game, but its actually not. It's pretty fun, and you can really see that the developer cares about the details, like how the normal arrows make the light brighter, how you get sticky instead of get stucked when a foam was created at your location, and how the alien bug has inverse kinematic.

o no weird flower is goint to get demonitized on youtube :(

Thank you! We love this game!

It isn't very long and doesn't introduce complex mechanics, but it is still very charming. glgrd especially loves the part where he hangs out with goofy little friends (and playing the game in non-intended ways)

I love your renditions for both glgrd, his new hat and his new frens. It seems that you DID found out who I am before the Jam ended (Hopefully the craps I made didn't pollute your mind 🫨) and even added a minion from the past into an ally in this game as a surprise 😍. I also love the detail of how every character has different singing voice, and how glgrd has the deepest voice among all. Really gives him the vibe of a cool, wise uncle.

Fun fact: When I first started playing the game, I thought it was supposed to be a 2.5D platformer instead of a 3D one and was wondering how to get past the first gap. glgrd literally considered how you might be mocking how short and weak his tiny noodle legs are 🥴

The following quote was typed by glgrd using my hands:

I wish I was the imaginary friend of you, instead of this mf who always procrastinate on what he wants to do (jk

(yeah he can be pretty harsh on me sometimes, but that's because he knows i have the potential to achieve world domination as long as i want)

What I mean is that the fish can also swim in the air and in the ground 😮

Honestly, the machine guns aren't even a problem because the blood steal is just too effective.

Fantastic game! Also the best one I've seen so far.

The fact that being in the 𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓌 "creates so much particles and screen shake so brain-jellifying it becomes practically impossible to see what is going on" is not only hilarious, but also can invoke some strategic thinking on the serious side. Would you rather be a maniac that blindly charges forward and smashes everything in front of you, or a calm strategist that always makes sure that you are actually hitting something?

Fuck the drones, though. They can fly so you have to grab them with grappling hook, but then they also have small hitboxes that doesn't feel aligning to their model very well (Minecraft phantom flash back 😬). In fact, they are the only challenging enemies in this game and every time I died it's because of some of them. As for all the other enemies, you just blindly charges toward them like a maniac since you have bloodsteal and can't die anyway.

It's overall a pretty lovely and adequately challenging game. However, there are many things that make this game feel too slow and less satisfying to play.

Aside from the long, unskippable walking animation everyone has mentioned, I also noticed that there are many filler non-puzzles throughout the game. They are usually something like "use all the wires available to connect from this now-permanent battery to that will-be-permanent battery, and do it again, and again" which would literally make no difference, other than extending the play time, if you just replace them with some permanent wires (which are only introduced much later, for some reasons).

I also noticed that the pixel art asset you used are blurry, and they shouldn't be.

So in Unity, when you import an image file, the game engine will give it a filter by default, which makes pixel arts blurry (pretty stupid, i know). To fix it is very simple. You just gotta select the image and look at the inspector panel and there should be the filter options as part of the import settings. Remember to click apply when you are done.

uhhhh i don't think this game is running properly on my computer since there's literally no obstacles and the game is only ~10 seconds long.

also this fish is also a bird and a mole for some reasons

Gluttony

The water physics might looks impressive, but it is far from decent in my perspective.

The biggest problem with the current water physics is that the water can flow in any direction except the direction it is flown from and other water flows can't interrupt this. This is basically why all the items flow toward the rightest corner at the start: the leftist water flows are calculated first, making the water flow to the right corner.

The easiest solution I can think of right now is to make water tend to flow in the same direction until it has to turn, but that may makes the water looks less realistic. (Not saying that the current water physics isn't any less realistic, though.)

Also I can't figure out how to not make water render faces behind faces, so the next best solution I can think of is to individually disable the faces that has water flowing through.

It's kinda unclear at first, but the idea of having to freestyle some of the lyrics (while slicing through enemies) is really cool.

Unfortunately, I don't really consider myself a poet, which means that I cannot think of any creative words (other than some common slurs, which unfortunately aren't allowed because this game is PG) in just a few seconds while also doing other things, let alone spelling anything that rhymes. Xp

This game isn't very fun, and it shouldn't be, because it is actually a showcase of the absurdity in the modern workspace of average people.

Having the ability to do more things only means that people will give you more responsibilities than you can handle and then fire you. 😣

Cool game and cool concept but I don't think I actually understand how the game works.

Every time I reach the first more vertical paintbrush, I just lose no matter what I do.

Also, having to watch where and how the paintbrushes drop really prevents me from actually draw something that isn't scribble.

Cool little platformer with the floaty water things from Mario (and Kirby) :)

The gameplay is kinda too easy for me overall, especially for how floaty the character is. Still, the controls feel very nice.

Awesome FNF clone /j

Kinda weird how in most music game, the player get to play the whole song if they get good, but in this game, you actually need to be bad in order to play the whole song.

You can't tell me what to do 🙃

As a GenZ-er, I can never understand why someone would like to use vim over an actual IDE.

Why memorize all those buttons and switching different modes, when you can just move your mouse? Did you forget your mouse on the car or what?

Vim is so bad it's not even funny. (not this game though which is cool)

Whenever you kill a skeleton, the next skeleton will instantly fill up the space and attack you, which I also think is kinda dum...
