How does the game fit the theme?
its about hopping to different weird realms with broken proportions or elements out of place

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
about 3-4 textures were taken from ambientcg and i have reduced their resolution for pixel-art style

some sfx downloaded from pixabay:

Very cool! I got a little lost with which door goes where at first, but I figured it out eventually.
Great job on your level design, and the void gun was super cool looking!

Super weird atmosphere. Definitely in the theme ! Congrats !

Feel free to test our game !

I already did 4 days ago; your game is nice graphically and it reminds me of "alley cat". Sometimes it's hard for me to notice red flags in the apartament but i guess im just blind.

Submitted

Oh yeah i remember ! Sorry ahah it's that we're 2 on this account and sometimes we're lost with what we're commenting/testing ahah

No you're not blind don't worry, some are definitly harder and unfair, we're taking that into account to enhance/fix that for a post jam version !

Very atmospheric horror. The design of creatures and locations is so cool. I dont really get the crouching it doesn't really do anything so maybe it would be better to just remove it? Also snow particles are so ugly. If you cant do it better you should also remove them. Both doesn't really affect the atmosphere but the snow part was the longest (maybe it just me who gets the longest way possible) so player can notice it and it ruins the atmosphere. I also waited these creatures to dash or start moving faster but they didnt, I dont think it's bad but it would be even better if they can actually catch you (maybe also add sprint with stamina idk)

I like the game. As I said the atmosphere is incredible. Great job!

Very cool. The eerie atmosphere really adds a lot of tension to the game. Great work!

Really good job at making a eerie atmosphere, I felt so unnerved the whole time. And theres always the feeling that one of the things could be in the wall behind you.

Good job!

Nice one, I really liked the atmosphere and the camera effects.

Very cool. Great job embracing the strange places theme! Personally not a big fan of the gun noise and some some effects when shooting one of the creatures would have made the gun feel a lot more impactful, but I quite enjoyed exploring through the worlds you created.

The ambiance is surely immersive and scary ! Great graphics. Great work!

Very much enjoyed the different rooms/worlds, cool design, there is a sense of dread everywhere you go. Nicely done. Truly a strange place, Good job!

Wow I wasn't expecting a horror game in a game jam. Good design with good message. Loved it.

I liked the level design, and the atmosphere feels well crafted.

Really nice work for a solo dev!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on our game as well if you get the chance.

I really like the different realms you put together. The falling snow and the wind audio really made the blizzard area feel cold and isolated. The rain section had a good vibe too, and the cave maze added a totally different kind of tension.

Those eyeball creatures were unsettling. One of them caught me off guard when  I turned around and it was just there. The whispers layered into the atmospheric sounds added to that uneasy feeling. I also thought it ran surprisingly well in WebGL for a first-person 3D game. Visually it held up nicely in the browser. Also, the title screen was really cool with the main game art.

The atmosphere and creature design make this game shine. You definitely nailed that eerie, void-stalker energy.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere in this, and the "void" creature design was great. I thought the first one I saw was watching me from behind the grate and then had to bolt like crazy when I realized it was coming closer, haha. If I had any constructive criticism it would be that the snowy bridge level felt like it went on a bit long (even with the extra doors); I think you would benefit from reducing the size of that a bit and placing one or two of the creatures from there elsewhere. Good job overall, and congratulations on completing the jam!

*First message of the game says "don't touch the void"
Me - Immediately touches void

Cool game! the shrieks of the void creatures made me jump a few times even after knowing what was going to happen.

That was good! I didn't have much issues with lag. A little at the start but it settled down. Very eery game. The whispers in my ears was unsettling. Very cathartic to erase all those void creatures. And I didn't see that twist at the end coming! Good job!

Submitted

Yeah, it’s laggy, but the core concept is very interesting and weird!

One particular tip from me is about the graphics: It’s like the game wants to be retro 90s, but the graphics lean toward 2005, and the two styles don’t blend perfectly, Not a rule, but you could try removing specular shine from objects to bring a better crisp aspect and use textures with a more similar texel density.

I know I can’t say much since in my own game I didn’t have time (maybe around 20 hours to do everything like modeling, texturing, and even the music) to apply any of this (and I hated the UV map and the models haha). Maybe that was your case too? Yeah, but just a tip!

I really liked your game! Cheers!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the reply
Yes, i was struggling with the artstyle and to speed things up i've created some models that use simple gradient with colors based on UV coords. Some materials are way too specaular because of my poor managment of materials in godot (IDK how to change materials of specific objects in batches and i imported whole levels straight up from blender to .glb which also created material duplicates)

Submitted

I totally understand! The result came out very, very good overall! Hm, sorry for asking, but are you a 3D artist?

Developer(+1)

Yes... I've worked alot with blender and even done some projects in multiple game engines and some other stuff,  but mostly it's some unfinished, undocumented trash.

Submitted(+1)

Great! Good luck for you, bro o/ Following!

Submitted

Good game but it's laggy

Developer

Yea the lags are issue when exported as web app, maybe ill try exporting it as windows executable

Submitted

Hmm it seems I'm unable to move the camera around? Not sure if I messed something up, but lmk if it's a bug and if you fix it! I'll hold off on rating for now.

Developer

Tried fixing it by reuploading as web compatible game. Maybe this will help (although now in my case the mouse floats diagonally sometimes lmao)
