The graphics of the Antarctic base and the snowy fields were absolutely stunning and beautiful. I also loved the grotesque design of the meteorite—it provided a brilliant contrast to the scenery. This was a top-tier short horror game that felt incredibly immersive. I’m really looking forward to your next project! Here is my Japanese gameplay:

Hats off to the developers loved reliving my love for The Thing, you managed to give me chicken skin xD

(+1)

This game was very stressful I was indeed scared for some parts but overall raging because of that chasing parts!

ssssss
(+2)

That was good!

(+2)

What a time, that snow mobile had my blood pressure through the roof! XD Wonderfully put together game guys, great setting and a fun story. Would love to see more in the future!

(+2)

This game was really good... great vibes, very unsettling creatures, and idiot coworkers (which I think we've all had to deal with in the past). Thanks for sharing it with us!

Fear the Flesh es un título indie con mucha personalidad y atmósfera, ideal para quienes disfrutan el horror narrativo, las ambientaciones inspiradas en clásicos y las experiencias cortas con tensión constante.
(+2)

I love the game environment & intense moment. May be add some puzzle might be more interactive. Looking forward for your other project! ;)

(+2)

GG, full of tension. Especially the end part. Although, the sneaking mission isn’t exactly a sneaking mission. The monster always spot me. So, might need to change the dialogue there.

Overall, adrenaline rush. Nice game

To be honest this looks great. Good visual disegn. The game could be more optimized though, takes half CPU and GPU of mine. Like, what are you calculating buddy? Prime numbers? I liked how the journal changes content day by day. What I didn't like are the initial dialogues, how they treat it as some great discovery and think of the awards, they seem rather happy and optimistic, naïve even, instead of treating it for what it is, which doesn't really set up the right mood. Also I found avoiding the monster annoying due to the narrow design of the second floor, and I failed to start the snowmobile the first time which was superannoying. Like man, I have done countless quick action events in games and I fail this one? lol

Is Fear The Flesh coming to Steam?

(+1)

what’s wrong with downloading from this one?

I prefer getting my games from here. Steam DRM risks ye losing yer entire catalogue if there's a single point failure at Steam. If Steam decides no, you lose access to the games you've bought license (read "rent" here) for. Here, you BUY a game, you can d/l game, and ye can install/reinstall game ANY number of times on YOUR PC any number of times.

Antarctica makes a surprisingly perfect horror setting here. Great atmosphere, strong foreshadowing, and excellent inspirations. Awesome work!

I LOVE THIS! the aesthetics, the characters, the funny mumblings when each character's dialogue appears is really funny! id love to see more games like this! <3

This was the second game I played while livestreaming. And I did enjoy it up until the point of having to wander around the base looking for the snowmobile keys... to where I admittedly got impatient and quit. The inability to escape from the anomaly once you're spotted really started to break away from the experience, especially when I'm forced to move at a snail's pace consistently the entire time, there's no fun in that, and it's even worse when you die and have to be respawned back at the beginning to go through all the troubles again.

This isn't to say the game is garbage or bad, and I'm definitely not here to insult your work. I did like the concept, the story, and the overall atmosphere. But I think there needs to be a bit more balancing to the game. And honestly a run feature would fix the whole thing, or have the ability to fight back or make the monster blind and have it only be able to follow sound; just some ideas to balance it.

Hi Mahlyath, sorry that you had a frustrating time with the stealth segment, I’m not sure if you caught on during your time playing but you actually unlock the option to sprint with the Shift key at that portion of the game.

An instructional prompt was meant to be displayed the first time you’re spotted during each attempt, but it appears there was an bug in the display logic and it only ever blinked by once. I’m working on a fix to make that prompt more noticeable.

If you wish to give it another try, you should be able to pick up right where you left off. Otherwise, I appreciate you taking the time to leave some polite feedback despite the issues!

Great game -- loved the atmosphere but the ending was a bit hard. Still good though!

(+2)

Awesome game. Thank you for making this!
(+2)

Hey guys loved the game! Looking forward to what you all cook up next! The atmosphere especially was sooo on point!

(+2)

This gave me The Thing vibes right away & throughout. I had fun with this & it was quite a cool horror game. I look forward to more projects! Here is my video!

(+3)

Very cool horror game, so much storytelling and game mechanics, great work

(+2)

Amazing game! Absolutely enjoyed the build up and the story line. Really liked the stealth mechanic though I did kinda brute force that part.

Quick Time Games Thank you so much for such an interesting project, even though it's short, it's addictive. As mentioned in the comments earlier, it feels like you were inspired by the movie "The Thing." I look forward to seeing more horror movies from your studio, and I wish you patience, strength, and imagination!

(+2)

A great game! Reminded me of "The Thing" the older horror movie not sure if it was an inspiration or not but the setting is a similarity. Overall had a fun time and this game is really good!

(+2)

Very interesting horror game. Remember the good old movies like The Thing.

(+2)

Such a cool game! Gave me the thing vibes! Awesome job!

(+2)

LOVE the inspiration from Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’, without actually being an exact print of the story. Was a super fun play that looked awesome and captured the feeling of isolation beautifully. Fantastic work!

(+2)

Good work! Short, spooky, no real complaints. Had a ton of fun, keep it up!

(+2)

Wow this game was truly amazing!

The story was well made for sure and the buildup to what's to come later was really well done. And the mechanics were well thought out as well. Only problem I encountered was that I got stuck inside the door leading to where the snowmobile key was. But the monster helped me out! 🤭😆Apart from that the game worked well for me. Overall, solid masterpiece for sure, had a great time with this. Made a video on it.

Caution, some spoliers in my review.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, ps1/retro graphics and that things are left to your imgination as to what happened. Such as our character jokingly wondered what the meteorite tasted like, and then the high likely our coworker ate some of it. Does this 'thing' have some sort of psychoinfluence on us? Compelling thoughts of consuming it, thus leading to infection?

I really loved the resident evil reference/look of how you 'inspect' things (like our journal or a corpse), I'm surprised I dont see that style more.

I will say the ending sequence inside the lab but also snowmobile kept me on edge. The lab sequence feels a tad weird since it's such a small space. It leads to the claustrophobic/unease you feel inside the lab, but you also don't have too much counterplay dealing with the monster.

I like that closing doors can buy you time to hide/get away to regain stamina, but then you don't really have any places to hide. Some spaces are just dead-ends, and if the monster walks into the room it's going to see you. Having a locker, or similar, to hide in would allievate this problem (although, I think that mechanic is overused/has its own issues).

I think a bigger, interconnected space for the lab would allow for more use of the peak mechanic while having less dead-ends/rooms where there is nowhere to hide. Ideally a place the player could safely lean to visually check 1 entrance of the room but wouldn't give you cover from the other entrance.

Overall, I still really enjoyed the game and interested in seeing what else you cook up! Also I give my suggestions as a non-game dev, so take with a grain of salt!

My playthrough as the 3rd game of my video:

Thanks for the in-depth feedback! You’re right about the level layout being a bit tight, we probably could have tested it a bit more. We’re glad that you still enjoyed the game!

(+2)

I really liked this game! Thanks to my friend Niven Hedinger for suggesting this.  As I always say for a THE THING inspired game, I enjoy that it feels like the movie without being a direct copy of it.  The atmosphere was nailed perfectly and the monster sequences were very well done.  Great job 🦖💚 9/10

(+3)

Cool indie horror game, had one bug where the monster bullied me and stuck me in a locker so I had to restart but other than that it was cool seeing a The Thing style game!
(+1)

Sorry you got bullied and put in a locker we are now aware and gonna fix it.

(1 edit) (+2)

Hey! Interesting experience, my most positive points with it were the sound design and the level designs for the experience. For some reason i got a bug in the game, when i tried to close a door in the chase segment and i got stuck in-between when it was closed, without the possibility for me to move any further, had to restart the 'continue' but then i got the ending. I'm only letting you know that, in case you guys want to give it another update in any sort lol sometimes those bugs can happen on unity. But anyways, a cool sci-fi experience 👍 please do more

10/10! - LITERALLY ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS

I can't help but feel like it has the inspiration from my favourite movie, THE THING & I LOVED IT BECAUSE OF THAT. I can't wait to play your future games <3

my playthrough:

Thanks for the comment!

We have been watching everyone's lets plays and thoroughly enjoying everyone's reactions.

I really liked this game! Just like others have said, I enjoy that it feels like The Thing without being a direct copy of the movie.
