This was the scariest one ive played in awhile im kinda scared to play the full game lol but im going to when its finished keep up the good work and i hope you like the gameplay
i really like the demo but the obnoxious jump scares are a bit much the sound is really cool so i was mildly disapointed that the jumpscares just full blown blast my speakers so hard they distort it's a bit much otherwise pretty good work
Every now and then, you'll find a game or demo on Itch.io that simply stuns you in its masterly glory of total immersion.
"Don't Play This" is one of them. I can't say much without literally giving the game away, but you have my word for this being one of those games that have you trip, fall back-and forward, and still surprises you, even on a warn down trail of a story.
Having played thousands of horror games, this one lets me sit in awe and hat in hand.
Well done, guys.
Very well done!
I didn’t run into any bugs, hiccups or other snags. Kudos to all involved and thanks for making this awesome game.
hi i was wondering if you can promote my game backrooms i am 12 and i wish you guys can play my game here is the link https://ubbader.itch.io/backrooms thank you!
A very impressive Indie game. Enjoyable jump scares with eerie atmosphere. I should have listened to the warning and not played this! lol, looking forward to the full game. See my playthrough here;
The least interesting way to go about this concept. A walking simulator, going from a-z (and repeat), toggling jumpscares as you go along. No lore to decipher, no tension displayed, just the usual uninspired Unity asset-flip slop.
We've probably all seen atleast one "last moments caught on camera" video, a good (and more known) example would be the Elisa Lam, Cecil Hotel disappearance. What makes it creepy is the ambiguity: what took place after the tape, who was this person, how did they get into this situation—these questions you're left with should be the very foundation of what makes this premise tick. Why opt out? Why not make these tapes more mysterious and subtle, does it really need to be a big loud monster stalking you everytime? Have the player try and put the pieces together themselves.
This was actually pretty well done. I know I complained about a few things but I complain about everything. I do wish I could have lived tho..is there gonna be a way to actually beat him in the full version?
Although light on mechanics - 'Don't Play This' certainly brings an eerie, foreboding atmosphere that ramps up when things start to go wrong in the cabin. Great visuals and sound design, I'm hoping that the other videos are more open in their environments.
Quick question - is the man who wakes up in the attic the owner of the house, or just squatting there? A horror set on a Scottish bothy would be an excellent set-piece...Look forward to the full release
