What was available was very well presented, I enjoyed the little interactions, and I can see the potential. Thinking a river king style adventure. Charming submission, good work and I hope you continue with this project or your next inspiration.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
unlucky kitty!!!

Looks great! It always sucks when you realize that you aren't going to finish your entry for one of these jams- but I'm glad you still submitted it!
A great start, you can really imagine this on a Game Boy. I hope you keep working on the game.
Sad it's not finished, It could be a interesting entry. I like the music. What's a bit disappointing is that it's a n-th game I play about unlucky cat, too obvious. And gameplay is also terribly cliched, sooo simple (even if it was finished) it's a n-th game I see, rpg-engine-style about unlucky cat that is "walking around fixing unlucky things". Could be more creative on that.
Hey! I did not not said you wasted my time. Every entry is worth spending time on. I said it's sad the game is unifished because this could be interesting if you had a bit more time to finish it, maybe do something creative. I just said that for me gameboy means creative games and the template you have used for this demo is not. It's too simple for a gameboy game (even if it was finished). For me gameboy means: Pokemon Pinball, Trip World, Kirby, Gargolyes Quest etc. And it's a bit disappointing to see next game that is RPG maker style point and click. It's a honest feedback, if the theme would be "blocks" every obivous tetris clone would be a bit disappointing.
I like the overworld music a lot and the all the overworld sprites look great. I couldn’t get to fixing the roof so it was pretty short but it’s a nice start.
A good start, even if there isn't much content at the moment. I think you should keep at it and make a complete game off of what you have!
What you have here is a good start. I enjoy the style you went with, and understand that you just didn't get to do what you wanted. Still, I'm glad you submitted! I also appreciate that you made it a real GB game, so points for that. Keep up the good work!
Jams are tough and I understand your frustration about not finishing things to your standard, but it’s impressive to me that people even try to make real GB games in just a week!
The art in this game is very cute and the music is nice, too. I can see what you were going for with the game’s progression, and what is here is fun! I really want to know what happens next haha.
I feel like you made a solid setup for your story here. Maybe you can finish it after the jam?
GBStudio definitely helped a lot!! it would have been released with even less contents if I had to take on the GBDK myself
I will try to continue developing it after I recover from the jam (+ I want to get more at ease with GBStudio for other jams) as I want to show more what I had in mind
thanks a lot for testing!!
I'm so sorry you couldn't finish it, I really got hooked by this little intro. Good job!
Music and art are great, but for gameplay, I kinda confuse where I need to go for the objective. But good work
A nice start, at the very least. I like the visuals, and the music hits the spot. Congrats on uploading anything though.
that’s a weirdly specific issue you’ve mentioned - you’d get colors only if you played on the GBC, which is also the case for most GB games, and on the GBC you can also choose the palettes for these games at startup (the key combo). My priorities were a lot more focused on adding as much gameplay/content as I could (this is still a jam game) since I was so late XD
also, I checked a bit GBStudio, I only applied the Monochrome option and I’m not sure you can have a preferred GBC palette until you make it GB+GBC, which I didn’t want as I was scared some kind of glitch would make more than 4 colors popup (I tend to be unlucky myself soooo…)
Also, I don’t think that’s the main issue with the game TBH XD I guess each one has their priorities
also, I think I’ll make the next version in color (GBC)
Congrats on your submission! It's a shame it wasn't finished, but I liked where you were going with it.
That was a neat demo. The art is readable, and the goals were clearly outlined. Hopping didn't seem to cause glitches, which is good. It's a nice change of pace to have a lighter shade of cat being unlucky!
Congratulations on the submission!
The art is so cute!! I really like the sprite for the cat! I also enjoyed the music as well.
I think I got a bit softlocked in my first attempt, and I couldn't get out off of my house, but everything went well in my second try. I think it was when interacting with the kitchen!
