"Hello! I am a big fan of your work, especially The Tornado Chicken, Wheels of Prio, and the latest updates to Porta-Bop.
I have a suggestion to make Porta-Bop the ultimate party game for friends. Would you consider adding a 'Pass It' mode?
It would be amazing if the game could trigger a command like 'Pass It!' or 'Next Player!' after a certain number of moves. During this transition, a short, catchy melody or a rhythmic countdown (like 3, 5, or 10 seconds) could play to give us enough time to safely hand the phone to the next person before the difficulty spikes again.
Having this kind of social 'hand-off' feature with a cool musical transition would make the game even more addictive. Thank you for all the hard work you put into making these games so accessible and fun!"
Hi! Thank you for the appreciation. I can imagine how passive mode will work for android, but what about computers? Even so, I can probably work on it.
The experience on android is super fluid! I like the gameplay layout based on braille keyboard. However, TTS engines on android have an inconsistent delay which causes an unfair timing reduction in faster BPM. It would be convenient to have an option to replace gameplay TTS instructions with prerecorded ones to be perfectly on sync with the music.
Hey i see hello i see a dialogue when i start the latest version on android phone that says a thing about sound error and exiting in all the games i just i just want to play a new game right now so i tried to install the latest version but that happened so i don't know what happened if that error is fixed i will be happy also i'm watching your videos on youtube
Hello! Thank you for watching the youtube channel. Yes, I tried the latest android version too. I think it is because the game is compiled using the latest version of nvgt. They have a new sound system, but for compatibility purposes, the old sound system can be used as a plug-in. The new sound system has different features, and while I still have to learn how to properly use it, I have to use the old sound system. But plug-in support on android is not working right now, that is why it is having errors. I still have to find out if files can save on android in the latest version, so I will probably practice with the new sound system before I can update anything. Thanks for confirming the problem though, I thought it only happens on my phone.
Just discovered the game today and I love it! I installed the android version on my gaming handheld with built in controls, so was slightly sad gameplay and curser movement in menus don't take advantage of them. Also don't think my progress is being saved. High score resets when I close the app. Finally, the section about learning gestures lists their associated keys, but it would be more helpful if they listed associated actions instead. Habing said this, once I figured how to use menus and got a game going, it played great! Hoping for an update with controller support and possible bug fix. Keep up the great work!
Hi! Thank you very much for the appreciation! It means a lot to know that the game is making people happy. The reason for progress not saving in android devices is because nvgt, the game creation engine, does not currently support doing so. But the progress can save on other platforms! Controller support might become available after nvgt updates. Thank you again, and have fun playing!
Hey, I just finished all 7 levels of the game — it’s really good! I have a suggestion. Could you add a narrator to the game, like in the original Bop It, and then let the player choose whether to play with the screen reader or the narrator? I think having the narrator would make it feel more like the original game. Keep up the great work!
Wait really! How! As you can hear, I, the game developer who guided the game, have not managed to do this and so I feel very surprised! All 7 levels won? Incredible! I hope I'm not dreaming? Now I feel like I needed to have that narrator speak just so I can have you rewarded! Seriously, how did this happen? I can't believe it! Ahem please excuse my rare emotional display...
Hi! By default, the game uses the SAPI 5 text to speech. The voice being used might be causing the crash? Try changing the default voicefrom control panel. I hope it helps!
Hello! Here is a suggestion. The game needs to be ran outside the zip file it came from. The lib folder that comes with the game has a file called sapi64.dll. Maybe? I hope this helps!
I'm really enjoying it so far, but I am experiencing a bug on windows where when I exit, it is saving my settings such as screen reader, but not gameplay settings such as speed or unlocked levels, essentially resetting progress each time. Also, it said noise commands are now enabled but I'm not sure how to activate, or if it's more level dependant. Thanks for a fun game though!
Hi! You are actually the second person to mention game saving. I guess I should see what I can do. Also, most game features are turned on after unlocking. You can check them out in gameplay settings. Thanks for your appreciation!
Hi, I can't find the noise commands option under gameplay settings, it's still only showing additional speed, even when noise commands has been unlocked.
Is it in the list of unlocked features? Everything unlocked goes there. You cannot turn noise commands on or off, so it is just there, part of the challenge.
Hello. I installed the mac version of the game earlier, and am really enjoying it. However, I have noticed a couple of things. The command for "shake it" is documented incorrectly. The correct keystroke is k, and not h, as documented. Also, there are no keystrokes in the documentation regarding the colours. Which keystrokes do you use for these? Many thanks for your assistance.
Hi! That was an unfortunate mistake there. The shake it command should be the letter h, so I just fixed that for all the platforms today. Hopefully, it will not be confusing on your next play! Also, the color commands and everything else after that level uses the same keys. If you wish to know more about these commands, let me know. Personally, I think that discovering them on your own is a satisfying challenge!
I've always wanted a bop it style game for android, this is great! However, I can't get any unlockable (my max core was 90)and the game doesn't save progress neither in android or windows.
Hello, and thank you very much for your appreciation, it means a lot! Unfortunately, the game cannot save files on android. The settings does save on windows, though. I was thinking that the game should act like a real bop it toy, where removing the batteries will reset all the high scores. But now that you mentioned it, there could just be an option to reset scores. Something to think about! Thanks again for the appreciation!
