Hello my fellow game jammers and gamers, and welcome to the 5th annual Shake it Up Jam! This is a jam where you take two themes and put them together in your own creative ways! You'll have about 2 weeks to get your ideas turned into games. Afterwords, the ranking will start. Your games will be ranked by execution, presentation, and creativity of the idea. All you need to join is just a Itch account, and that's it! Wanna join but you don't make games? That's perfectly fine! You can still join and play some of the amazing creations that all these wonderful developers make!

1. You must use both themes, I've had people pick and choose in the past, so I'm making it a mandatory rule this year so people will understand. 

2. Your good must be made and uploaded within the submission deadline (outside of setting up your project, which I will allow), any games that break this rule will be disqualified! 

3. Please avoid NSFW material, most (if not all) games submitted to this jam will be featured on the Superchocolatemilkshake channel on YouTube. We are trying to avoid strikes here! 

4. No copyrighted material, same reason for rule number 3

5. No harassment or killing each other, this is a friendly event! While some talk my be allowed, please be respectful towards each other. If you feel like someone is crossing the line and harassing you, get in contact with me via Discord or email and I'll see if I can straighten things out. If no adjustment is made, this will result in instant ban.

6. No AI, this game jam is meant for you solely to show off what you can do! I will allow it if you use a AI to assist you in programming, but all the heavy lifting must be done by you! 

Q: It seems like the world is ending, why are you hosting this? 

A: While I will say times are tough, I will not believe the world is ending until it has ended. However, while I won't say that these people are going to save the world, I can say that creative people have more ability to start change and are the last line of defense against this restrictive place called earth. This is also why I made the rule raining in AI, because we need more people who are creative and think for themselves! 

Q: Are asset packs allowed? 

A: Yes, as long as you have the rights to use them then go ahead! I know there are some amazing asset packs out there, so if you need to use them feel free to! 

Q: Will there be a grace period? 

A: No, but I've never really needed one in the past with this jam... Well OK, there was this one time, but I forgot to reveal the theme that year... 

Q: Will teams be allowed? 

A: Yes, not just allowed, but encouraged! As someone who has done everything by himself for a game jam before, having a team will lighten the load and make your work faster. If you need to find people to team up with then check out the Post Jam Productions Server, a server full of game jammers with a wide range of experience! You can try your luck with The Citizens of Left Wyoming server, while not as big, you can also try finding a/some teammate(s) there!
