Wow, cool entry! Very nice graphics and music.

I liked the random-attack. Very handy for finding ships! It would have been nice if the sunk ships were revealed!

I guess the enemy AI mostly randomized its shots? I think it might be hard to do anything else without making the game pretty punishing :) Starting over would have been a bit frustrating in this game I suspect. Did finish it without dying, so that was nice. Very ambitious project of yours, congratulations on finishing it with style!

Haha, one thing. The hand clicking the tiles, I think it should have had an offset or been more pointy. It was kind of easy to misclick with it! :)

We had some problems with the grid, so we wasn't able to show the shipswhen it sunked, and the game was very hard if the AI woudn't attack randomly. Thanks for the feedback and for playing it!!

The end theme music was fantastic!! Wish it had more of chance to shine elsewhere in the game too
Also, the first time when I ran the game I ran out of fuel and I couldn't find a restart button so I had to relaunch the game.  When I won battles it said  I captured a new ship but sometimes new ships just wouldn't graphically appear. There were also hits on my  side that registered but there wasn't a ship sprite displaying on my side.

Other than that, cool twist on the battleship mechanics

Fun game, really like the cutscene art, especially the final one with the two boats, very nice.

Its interesting to play a battleships style game where you don't get to place your boats, it really speeds up the gameplay and you can get into a nice rhythm against the AI when exchanging attacks.  I think the powerups could have been a little more powerful and the square/L shaped ones could have done with an indicator of where exactly the shape would hit - a few times I wasted half my square attack by aiming incorrectly.

The fuel limits were a bit stingy - first time I played I managed to spend all my fuel before the first battle and had to restart.  Then in my second go, I was scared to make one incorrect move on the way to the post-it coordinates incase I got stuck again.

Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it!

Wow, you guys made a beautiful game :)

Your spin on the battleship minigame with the souls and special abilities was actually really fun, and the art and music suited the game really well.

Since you get pointers on the exact coordinates to go next, I feel like the fuel feature is a little unnecessary. I noticed on one of the later maps (maybe 8 or 9, I should've written it down), the X and Y coordinates were reversed. And I think the rendering of the ships on your side was a little broken, since I'd often get hit even though it marked an empty tile.

Overall, excellent entry!

Thanks for playing it!!

Really great art style :)
The gameplay was fun too.

I was just afraid that I might run out of gas in the middle of the game ^^"

Thanks for playing it!!

Very nice game! It gets a bit awkward when the soundtrack stops in the middle of a fight with only the sound of waves, it would be nice to have a counter of how many enemy squares are left in the fight, and I got stuck behind one of the enemy ships  on the map. But I would love to see a bigger version of this, really had fun playing. It's a unique idea that you implemented very well.

I appreciate the feedback and thanks for testing it!

Definitely develop this after the game. Would do well on steam and itchio!

I got to the 4th map, but ran out of gas wasn't sure what to do. I think throwing the player into a fight when out of gas would make sense, or something.

Also I just spammed the random square target ability since it's mathematically the best choice.

I really liked this one.

Developer

hahaha youre right about the random square ability. I might continue it after. Also thank you so much for testing it!
