Game description
God is a Tuna is a text-based game about 30 minutes long inspired by I dream I had and created in just 3 days. There are two different endings.

In this game you'll be Roberto, a university student who lives with his eccentric roommate Luca and who, one day, finds himself in a version of his reality where all the people have been replaced by Luca.

Meet different Lucas and find an explanation, speak with God and eat tuna.

Theme interpretation
Since the theme is "waves" I chose to reference various marine elements (for exampe in the protagonist's university, with the tuna cansa the co-protagonist is obsessed with, and in the ending, where the main character meets God, a Tuna, in a mystical ocean).

I liked the surreal nature of the story and it was quite funny, however there isn’t much of a game here. Any divergent path i tried to go down would result in me being immediately railroaded back onto the main story. I’m not sure if there were multiple endings but whenever i take a path like “Wait for Luca” and it says “you decided you can’t wait for luca” then the illusion that I’m in anyway making choices is shattered and I’m just reading a book with extra steps. I’m sure you could do a lot with this if you could add atmospheric music, images and some real choices / multiple endings so it didn’t feel so railroady. The surreal storytelling is fantastic.

Also just a side note, but i think your subconscious might be telling you to have sex with Luca…

Thank you for your observations! You're right, it's more of a storytelling than a real game, it was kind of an experiment, since I have more experience telling stories than creating games. The funny thing is I'm a Luka and I have a roommate named Roberta. I had this dream way before knowing her and there's no sex involved 😭

What a strange and surreal journey. I like the humor and choices. It was a lot of fun. A little overwritten in moments but interesting message. A good time

I often play story games, but this one has a strange story unlike anything I've seen before. I won't go into detail since it would be a spoiler, but the descriptions in each scene are excellent and enjoyable to read. The essence of this game is the very absence of artwork or sound, but it's also fun to imagine what it would have looked like if those elements were included.

the description is the exact sentence I would imagine David Lynch would have wrote if he participated in a gamejam

I very much love stories based on actual dreams and experiences like this, very much loved reading through this one and experiencing all the weirdness and strange fondness. Great story, the lack of images makes it more fun to experience the dreamy surrealism, how I wish to eventually experience something was otherworldly as this.

Certified Luca moment.

Thank you for this comment, I really appreciate it! I love talking about my dreams and telling weird stories, so I'm so glad someone actually likes them. I'll play your game as soon as possible, I'm sure it'll be great.

A little too verbose for me in places, once it got going the story was interesting.
