Meeting in the Flesh is a free horror/romance visual novel. You play as Vil, the resident of a strange but friendly little city, encountering various people and getting the chance to court one of three different monstrous suitors. Though the game will include some body horror imagery, the game is a romance at its core, with a focus on getting to know and growing closer to your partner. It features romantic scenes that can be toggled between a PG-13 and R rating.

The world of Meeting in the Flesh is full of interesting faces, but Vil is pretty close to three in particular ...

Yiestol is the community overlook. Kind and gentle and takes great pride in his work. He cares deeply about others.

Brattan is a salt scout. Very friendly and outgoing. He loves adventure and excitement, and wants to discover something big!

Nyargh is the owner of a bee shop. Though gruff and stoic, he's in no way mean. However, he's surrounded by some odd rumors ... ?

i really enjoyed this game! art is beautiful,  each route is enjoyable. even the cannibalsim was more romantic than i expected. only route i did not do was Nyargh's "bad" ending (the endings arent bad, just maybe bittersweet)

Is there a guide I'm struggling to romance anyone

lemme make out w brattan

DUDE I HAD SEX W HIM???? (hadnt finished the game)

I played through this back when it first came out. Realized I never rated it. I've fixed that, 5/5. It's definitely worth a playthrough. The world building and characters are topnotch. It's one of the few romance / horror genres that I enjoyed.

I originally played this game in summer of 2021 and oh my god I absolutely adored it. I was so taken with the world and the character design and how abnormal it is from out world, but how you're still able to understand it all. It's genuinely so much fun to go through each of the dateable character routes. I still love it to this day <3

I usually never comment but this is the most immersive game I've seen yet! The world building is so thought out and the characters look so cool! It makes me want to read a whole book of these characters! Truly an amazing game! Definitely an 11/10 <3

Romance games with a horror bend are very rare.

There are many with brutal, s/m, or gorey themes, but it's rare to find one with personable characters, ones who are monstrous but clearly  feel real.

It is a rare soul who can find beauty in the monstrous, all the more so one who can create beauty and eerie in equal measure with emotions to match.

I very much hope you continue to produce titles and would love to collaborate with you if my own project takes me anywhere near where this is.

If you need a resource for creating sounds, or ever need a specific sound for a scene or a looped background noise (walking, leaves, outfoors) to set scenes ill be happy to put something together for you.

My last project was a collection of horror FX i never ended up using so ill be happy to send along if you like.

Also, Ill consider, if you ask nicely, recording and sending over voiceover files if you have a character you need to give some lines to.

In addition to a professional mic setup and several custom built server pcs for editing, I have a stable tone that never rises above speaking, being told i have a unique ability to be "yelling" at somebody without ever raising my voice.  Having spent several years as a treated gender neutral person my voice does not carry a gender, though i can lean either way, it is ideal for androgynous characters.

I have been taking a break from itch this year to peruse a career if medical diagnostics so if you have any time sensitive requests you can reach out through my reedit. (I hate social media, like tumbler and tik tok) My user name was randomly assigned, sigh...

Also, iam currently playing you r game now, but out of several dozen i have searched through, your is the one i've settled on.

P.S. I hope to god this comment is cut off, so it doesn't crowd your comments. You can remove it worry free if you read and replied or if it gets in the way of the specifically game oriented comments.

I rarely comment but man… I come back to this game so frequently. I recommend it to everyone I meet. The worldbuilding, the art, the writing, the music??? It is all so perfect in making a world that feels so complete. I have played this game so many times almost every option chosen and I am so in love with Nyargh lol which I did not expect!!! But I simply adore him and his backstory. Theyre all so compelling in their own ways and I am so just entirely obsessed with this world and the grossness of it and the tenderness with which its all regarded. If this game has no fans I’m dead lol truly like… a work of art. Brb gonna go make some fanart ty for this game!!!!!!! p.s. shout out to the stranger things references 2019 me loved that lol

Returned to this game after a few years and it is still so good!! I am in love with all of them, but my favorite is Yiestol dbhshfsb I am just a silly little creature attached to my serious stick man

(+2)

This game is phenomenal. I hope the creators know that. I feel that i would ramble endlessly if i were to start listing off all the things that makes this game phenomenal... but truly, this game is so, so good. In every sense of the word.

This game is one of the best!   I enjoyed it so much, that I even translate this game to Chinese and record a gameplay video here on Bilibili.  A monstrous thank you for building an amazing game.

Yessssssssss!!!!I agree with you very much! This is a great game and I am often shocked by the characters because they are really delicate and feel like they are really alive!!!After playing the game translated , I couldn't help but come and have a look. My English is not very good, there may be some problems with my expression. But I really like this game very much. Thanks to the game maker!!!!Thanks to the game translator!!!!🥺❤️❤️❤️

This game lives rent free in my head even after a few years. Yiestol got me messed up, but Nyargh healed my soul. Fantastic game with such a solid world.

I found this game years ago, and I still think about it to this day. It's given me my love for the horror genre, and I'm still finding something to fill the visual novel shaped hole in my chest.

(+1)

this game was so amazing in it's worldbuilding and lore and characters considering it's runtime!!! nyargh's my fave (and he deserves more love in my humble opinion) but truly, my ultimate love is just the world this takes place in. the worldbuilding and exposition is done so naturally, a shining example of a perfect balance of "show not tell" while also not being too obtuse!!!

the details of the salt, the punishments, the fleshfields... oh what i'd give to read an entire novel written in this world. thank you for the wonderful game!

(+2)

I truly adored this. I found the narrative flowed so smoothly, not loredumping me, but still giving me enough information to get to know the world from the available information alongside context. I think it did a superb job at that. The love interests were so great, I wish I could have had more time with them before their "big decisions" (out of pure selfishness, ha).

I liked the bittersweet aspect of Yiestol's and Brattan's routes, especially the latter. All three routes were very sweet, beautiful and romantic in their own way, this was a really nice experience, and I am so glad I picked this up ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

(+4)

I played through Yiestol's ending. I'm pretty sure playing this changed me fundamentally in some way. Liquid gold drips from the pen that you wield. Thank you.

i absolutely love this, i did yiestol's ending and tbh it was so sweet and romantic, also the art was beautiful and i adore him

Played this game for the first time recently after watching your guys 'Visual Novel Development For Beginners' talk. - It was sooo good I had to check out your games.

The worldbuilding in this game is insane and I feel incredibly teased with its short but sweet runtime.

The characters are likeable and intriguing, each ending reveals more about the world. (I am yet to achieve Nyarghs ending-- will update this when I do, currently at a cafe and I'll further out myself as a monster fucker)

Amazed that the music was not custom commissioned, it fits the setting and the illustrations perfectly. - Looking through the guys website was an adventure in itself -

Overall I'm now gonna be thinking about this world non-stop, and fanart will be made in the coming months.

Great work, and I look forward to playing your other games!!

10 out of 10!!

character design and worldbuilding in this is insane, i love nyargh and his bees.

this game is so unbelievably charming and freaky and fun i love it so much

The worldbuilding and characters are fantastic.

Yiestol's ending made me feel whole (ha-ha,) it was by far my favorite ending. It's really romantic I think, to love someone so much that you'd desire to become one so completely. Brattan's ending to me was bittersweet. I don't know, it felt sort of like something was lost in a way? But Vil gained a very sweet and loyal wolf man, so I can't complain. Nyargh's story felt the most relatable. He really is sweet, I love my tentacle monster fella. I want to help him take care of bees for the rest of our lives.

I loved all the characters, like, what, how do you make something so amazing.
Huge thanks to everyone involved!!

(+4)

PLS i loved brattan's ending

i found a post of suggestions on tumblr, and the name of this alone was enough to interest me, but the person also included a pic of nyargh to show one of the suitors and i immediately fell in love! that said, yiestol ended up my fave sgdhksakshdg

anyway! i love this so so much. it's so sweet and gentle and with body horror being my favourite thing ever, it makes my heart sing

(+2)

coincidentally managed to find and play this game during an actual eclipse here! it only heightened this absolutely incredible experience even more, but i'm absolutely positive that this is one of my favorite games now. yiestol is the new love of my life <333

This game is the only one of its caliber that I have played and it’s truly amazing! I cannot believe it is available for free. 😩 Most visual novels I played were 60-70% dialogue, so I was delightfully surprised at the approach MITF took with its text — it does not shy away from descriptions and building lore of the grotesque world we play in, that has truly helped to forge a more immersive connection with the characters. I truly felt like I was actually reading a novel as compared to skimping through chunks of dialogues, certainly a welcoming change.

The artwork and character designs are absolutely beautiful. Body horror is pretty prominent in the game (e.g exposed pulsing flesh and pus) but it does not carry the same dreadfulness as it would in a non-romance medium, it somehow even felt like I was right at home.. idk how to describe it. This game evokes the coziest vibes in an unconventional way.

Thank you sooo much to the team for this masterpiece! This is genuinely the most compelling and immersive VN I have played in a long while. The world of MITF plus characters will forever have a special place in my heart 🩷🥰

I loved this game! It's so unique! I really liked all the characters, the art is also beautiful! 🤩

(+7)

I know what the goal was explaining the bonding with Yiestol was. However, I couldn't get the image of Steven universe fusion out of my head. In my mind we are a permanent SU fusion.

(+2)

This game is absolutely amazing!!

I was like "oh noooo anything but handholding!!" when I see the TW up front

Created an account just to comment on this! This game was unbelievably stunning. The art is outstanding, the characters are so unique and loveable, and my god the entire story is so beautifully written. The world is built so deeply but not in a sense that's overwhelming. This game is just. Incredible. I genuinely can't praise it enough, I'm just sad that I found it so late.

(+2)

I loved this game, Nyargh is my personal favorite !
