c.0.9.0 is much more stable. I have been playing it on an old chromebook for at least 3 days solid now, and it has only crashed 2x, but didnt loose progress, just page reload.
the only problem i find now, after level 40 enemy and stacks dont take into account inability to get better gear. ie the difficulty at level 43 goes from kill all in 15-20 seconds, to wipe.
i just complete my (theoretically) best run so far, got to level 43 at least 3-4 times over 3-4 days solid play (im watching videos while playing), but this was the first time I got to upgrade shop 20k at level 40 (2 other times at level 43)

that is not possible any longer. not so enjoyable to play any more. frustrating knowing i'm going to get wiped at level 43, no matter what gear i have, nor build makeup
Hey, thanks for playing! The game is coming to Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android in January 2026! Maybe that helps? PS4/PS5/Xbox is not yet planned, but it might also happen in the future.

This 0.8.7 version is very usable / stable. just spent about 12 hours straight playing on SteamDeck (With Google Chrome Flatpack). Will test it on 32bit Legacy RPiOS tomorrow and see how that goes (looks promising, last time it kept chrashing on the Steamdeck as well - see post below from 10 moths ago, plus a couple of others since the beginning of development - I wish I had recorded the version in that post)

RNG means you are never going to get "an optimal build"
I always aim for DPS and use low speed characters for high speed rolls (theif & pointy shields - keeps everyone together, no high speed loaners that will often die, alone)
I always though "weight" was a negative, but it governs how far you bounce back when hit in certain ways.
Note that you can build a thief with such high dexterity + 2x specials that they wont die (under certain circumstances)
And I often reorder my units, with at least one magic in position 2 after a "heavy hitter" or "heavy unit".
On avarage I get to around 50 battles, and usually only die by fighting 3x Elite Uniques (like 7000 Gold and heaps of gear if you can beat them - almost impossible if there is a Healer in there)
Almost forgot, my best runs usually have 2x Healers, at least one Ice, and 1 or more other magics.
And remember to steer clear of battles with too many Fire guys or too many Electric guys (4 is too much for many runs).
why not update the demo i would like to buy the steam version but I am afraid of crash issue, and I also found out that you can tab dead retire person and dup gear which makes infinite money.
I had not play this demo for about 6 months because there was some crash issue. I spent 8+ hours playing it (not in fullscreen coz it stil crashes) an then it crashed. I have not been able to get it to run more than 5 minutes before it crashes (even if you do nothing and watch the menu screen) - until about 2.5 hours ago, when I started again after a wipe, now I have maybe 40 wins - the thing that is triggering the crash now, is swapping from Tier 1 Fire Staff (1-2 DMG) to a Tier 1 Ice staff (6-11 DMG) - I think the animations might have something to do with it - besides that, in the dev console there are a hell of a lot of "Violations" , "Promise not caught" exceptions, and other JavaScript errors _constantly_ - I have not played the Steam Version yet
pls give a bit more love to itch pls like let it have the forge, i dont really care about graphics, and mabey work more on bringing the upgrades to be unlocked o
I just did a video of the demo and I just realized you have a newer early access version on Steam! Shucks. Ill have to give that version a try! I really like the game it's very addictive!

nice job dude, i was playing as safe as i could at this point since pretty much every battle was won on a knife's edge.
was about to give up on the run so i could get some upgrades and then my assassin soloed around 50 enemies

nope you just need that group to "not have a Healer" AND "yours are maxed out DPS"

Currently there are no plans to do that, but I might reconsider in the future.

There have been substantial updates to the game, which do no longer allow for an easy WebGL build.
Currently, there are no known crash or exploit issues with the Steam version.

i have discovered that 8 healers and 2 thieves can almost win any scenario. just don't fight fire mages or anything with a lot of healers themselves
