The Smile in the Dark is a technical marvel and a survival horror experience. Built from scratch using raw JavaScript in Notepad, this game uses a custom-coded Raycasting engine to create a 3D world without using Unity, Unreal, or even Three.js.

THE CHALLENGE:

1. Collect 5 Stars hidden in the red fog.
2. Find 5 Keys to unlock the exit.
3. Avoid The Smiler—a creature that navigates the halls and hunts you.
4. Don't let the timer hit zero, or he'll be right behind you.

CONTROLS:

• W/S: Move
• A/D: Look
• P: Pause

LIVES: You have 3 chances. If he catches you, the camera shakes, and you lose a life.
