This PR tries to find the root cause of the conda-build failure:
#6520 (comment)
-> conda/conda-build#1061
Ir also contains all commits of #6520, so if #6520 is merged and the problem is found, this PR should just have the revert of the disabling of the conda-build command and, if needed, the fix :-)
