Sorry, I'm trying to come up with a reason behind the revert of the PR but I understand that this kinda makes it similar to other font emojis which is maybe bad and good at the same time (really subjective). The old emoji is basically the main reason why I prefer using Twemoji and not other fonts. The way it uses the eyes looking up instead of just some sparkling eyes like a pleading cat makes it feel more appropriate. I dont know, I can try changing the color of the eyes and see what feels better but I like the idea of it |

there's nothing wrong with the old pleading face emoji design (not to mention the cultural impact that the old design had), and the new design just looks very out-of-place. after this pull request is merged, I would suggest implementing a new "holding back tears" emoji to address twitter#563, one that looks similar to the rest of the emoji in the set (including the old pleading face emoji). the original comment on twitter#563 included a pretty reasonable design that I think is workable and would be fitting enough
