Add to Category:Romani cuisine per Romani cuisine. 66.179.190.46 (talk) 18:49, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Potato could plausibly be added to the category for just about every type of cuisine, and that doesn't seem appropriate. If you really think it should be added, please establish consensus here first. meamemg (talk) 20:25, 10 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Should the second paragraph of the opening section be changed?

[edit]

In Spread, under the History section, there's a source (https://doi.org/10.3732%2Fajb.95.2.252) stating that most modern potatoes come from a Chilean variety, but the opening section still says that they're from an area between Peru and Bolivia. 123.255.47.249 (talk) 10:38, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Potato's word origin comes from "Papa" a Quechuan word meaning potato and not Spanish since potatoes originate in Peru and were domesticated by Andean cultures speaking Quechua.

Read, The Untold History of the Potato by John Reeder and Todo Sobre la Papa by Edelnor Endesa.

Not done First of all, you haven't followed the instructions in the request template and given the specific edit you wish to see. Secondly, the text as it is (and as it is referenced) already indicates that the word comes directly from an indigenous word via Spanish; if that is not the language of origin you want to see, i suggest you be more specific in your request and reference ~ LindsayHello 18:34, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
