Thanks for playing, there's 2 endings in Mortician Final Night, the secret one tells a bit more story and is longer and more will be revealed in Mortician Meat Market, the sequel is actually out now https://azagamestudio.itch.io/mortician-meat-market Cheers!
Thanks for the update I would like to try it out but isn't it included in the chapter one game? or do we have to pay it per chapter? Because in my opinion that is a bit much..
This is not a chapter based series of games, each game is more of a standalone spinoff with lore connections / similar themes / new locations etc. the new game is also much larger & longer featuring many new mechanics and so i promise its worth it and feel with the amount of work the price is fair as well :) Thanks!
Thank you so much for checking out more of my work and glad you enjoyed Mortician Final Night, I look forward to release the next one in the series soon!
Just swinging by with an imgur link, because I kinda feel it's poor taste to link to anything else here, - but I made some screenshot fanedits of your game. Thought I'd offer them up here to you, and to any fans. (they are on DA too, but I don't have a core membership, and I would never ask for money for any edit, just to make it completely clear, this is just me making some free fan edits) https://imgur.com/a/sDa3s7U - Also this is such an atmospheric game =)
I looooved the atmosphere in this one! I think for me the jumpscares didn't quite hit as hard. Could have to do with timing of sound cues but I'm not quite sure. Definitely the atmosphere of this was AMAZING though.
The lighting was super cool, and the part where we had to manipulate the body had me sooooo grossed out. The tension and atmosphere were really A+. I think maybe a few more subtle scares where there aren't sound cues even would have made this absolutely terrifying. With the plotline I think that makes more sense.
But that's my personal opinion, and I'm still thinking of this game a week later so it definitely had an impact on me. Excited to play Meat Market when it comes out! The whole plot is a really cool concept and I'm excited to see if the next game is related.
Thanks for your feedback and thanks for playing! The sequel will expand upon some lore & connections and go into even darker themes and mechanics! Cheers
Thanks for playing! Glad you would higly recommend the game, really appreciate the support and hope you will be playing the sequel as well once it drops!
I streamed this the other day. I don't know if I encountered a soft lock or what, but I couldn't get past the examination of the body. I could not progress at all after that portion. Its very possible I did something wrong, but idk. Looked pretty good, but that's as far as I got before giving up and moving onto the next game. Pretty cool game from what I got to play though.
After you get the task to inspect the body, you need to inspect the head, after this you can finish the puzzle on the whiteboard where you select 4 red notes in the correct order ( there's also a hint of the code next to the whiteboard ), hopefully this helps! Thanks
This developer cooks some of the most interesting short but thrilling experiences. I was a bit confused with the ending, but as soon as I heard there was a sequel in progress it got me hyped up! Great game.Looking forward to the next one and DEAD FACES! Full gameplay below. Where is the body? 😱
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing and supporting my work my friend, it is always a pleasure to watch your playthroughs! Looking forward to provide more terrifying experiences! BTW Noticed you played v1.1, there's an update to v1.2 which adds a bit more to the game! https://azagamestudio.itch.io/mortician-final-night/devlog/1286880/game-updated-...
Absolutely thrilling! I was incredibly surprised by how much high quality voice acting there was! Like some other comments, I also had a bit of a problem finding some of the objectives, but I’d argue recording a video and being focused on completing a game effortlessly often conflict with each other IMO. This game genuinely scared me, so much so that my heart was still pounding for a couple minutes after having closed out the game LOL! I encountered what I can assume is the bad ending(?), but I’ll definitely play again soon to find the 2nd ending. Great game!
Thanks for feedback & for playing! Great playthrough, you did get the "bad" ending, I won't spoil it but the other ending is longer, more twisted and reveals more story.
Great experience to start off the year! Though there were a couple objectives I had a difficult time figuring out(me problem most likely), I thought that the atmosphere and jumpscares were very effective. Well done, dev!
After testing the game for a while, I wasn’t able to get stable performance. The game runs at around 15–20 FPS and appears to rely almost entirely on a single CPU core. When that core is maxed out, the rest of the CPU remains mostly idle.
Because of this, the GPU also stays at very low usage, since the engine isn’t sending enough work to it. This behavior doesn’t change when forcing fullscreen, disabling V-Sync, changing power settings, or forcing the game to use the dedicated GPU.
From testing, the issue seems to come from the game’s threading or engine behavior rather than hardware limits. This may not affect everyone, but it’s something potential buyers should be aware of.
Note: I attempted to force the game to use all available CPU cores and the GPU, but it consistently limits itself to a single task. The engine does not distribute work across resources, so additional CPU or GPU capacity remains unused.
Okay thank you for your feedback. 15-20fps seems extremely low. Without knowing your system specifications it's hard to help. You can also view the recommend system specs and ways to optimise the game in the settings as instructed on the game page, haven't had anyone else with this issue though. My apologies regardless!
Let's say that my specs aren't the issue at hand here. (I'm not comparing games; obviously, this is a AAA game and it will be better optimized. I'm just using a somewhat high-end game as an example of what my computer can run smoothly with no lag or stutter ( I wanted to post a Steam picture of Elden Ring and how many hours I have on the game, almost 500 but Itch.io doesn't let me for some reason )
Elden ring isn't the best game to say your pc specs isn't the issue when the recommended is a gtx 1070 8gb lol with a intel core I7 or a amd ryzen 5 lol
As stated, it is hard to help you without knowing your system specifications. You may have a bottleneck between GPU / CPU. Are you using a dedicated card on laptop? It is true the engine is mainly single threaded without using something like DOTS however physics are always multithreaded and the game does utilize the GPU / CPU'S and i do have the game offloading rendering to multiple worker threads, however it is not exactly easy to implement DOTS fully, due to the engine specific API's not being able to run on others then the main thread, but your the only one i had who have these very low perf issues. I can only suggest trying this: To optimize: Try reduce texture quality to half, fog quality, FPS cap and shadow distance and make sure to not have any heavy programs running while playing the game. Please try this and report back, if you still are having issues feel free to request a refund https://itch.io/docs/legal/terms#refunds
Mortician Final Night + the sequel may be ported to Steam + have steam achievements added, i cant say exactly when right now but after the next release. Thanks for checking out the game!
So, I forgot to press record! But I did play this game & managed to find both endings. I really thoroughly enjoyed it, and it did remind me or the Mortuary Assistant, I liked the story & the jumpscares. I did wonder if his drinking would come into it. I hope to record your next games! haha
Hi again, loved the game! I managed to figure it out (with your help :D), and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. You can check out my feedback in the video, though I see you updated the game just now so my feedback is probably exactly what was added. :)
Thanks for playing and great job getting all endings! I did just add some extra hints at those two puzzles and restructured some tasks description etc. Glad you enjoyed the game and thanks for your feedback!
No problem man, thank you as well for this game and listening to players' feedbacks (not all devs do that). And happy upcoming holidays! :) P.S. I think I played one more of your games in the last few months and also liked it, just can't really remember (I play a loooot of games), but "AzaGameStudio" sounds super familiar.
I had fun making the body twist and turn on the examination table. When it started talking to me was hilarious too. Jumpscares got me good too, my game only crashed once, you'll see when it happens too.
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it, you got ending 1, there's a secret ending as well! Thanks for feedback, never experienced that, I see it went fine for you the second time! Thanks again for playing as always, great playthrough!
